Labels: , , , , , , ,

Like we just heard two days ago, it looks like the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X3 announcement could really be next month (November) according to Ericsson Labs' Twitter account. I'm really hoping this handset comes out by the end of this year, because I'm definitely looking to scoop this one up - especially with Android on-board! Check out the tweet here!

Update on October 19th: According to Phandroid, a Sony Ericsson employee mentioned that the XPERIA X3 will actually get launched as the XPERIA X10 and it'll be available in the first eight weeks of 2010... Could this really be true...?

Verizon Launches DROIDDOES Advertisement; Motorola Droid vs Apple iPhone

Labels: , , , , , , , , , ,

Verizon has just launched one of their first attacks on AT&T Apple's iPhone. Maybe they won't be launching it after showing exactly how they feel about it. Anyways, they are looking to size up the Android-based Droid (Sholes / Tao) directly up against the iPhone. While the Droid is definitely better than the iPhone spec-wise, the iPhone will always come out on top no matter what Verizon launches. Anyways, check out the Verizon ad below. Remember: DROIDDOES. It looks like we'll be seeing a November launch for the Droid.

We know nothing about the situation right now, but it looks like Firefox is looking to push out an iPhone app. There are rumours going around that it could have something to do with their bookmark syncing service, Weave, but it's confirmed right now. Of course, it could always be Firefox Mobile... or Fennec. We'll see.

BlackBerry Storm 2 Launching On October 21st On Verizon -- Unconfirmed and With MiFi?

Labels: , , , , ,

Although it's definitely unconfirmed at the time this image above is a leaked merchandising document that clearly started that the BlackBerry Storm 2 will be launching on October 21st. To be honest, I'm getting tired of the Storm 2 rumours and I just want Verizon to man up and announce this thing already because Vodafone already did.

Update: According to Engadget, I missed the fact that it says that the Storm 2 will have "MiFi capability." A few of the comments are saying that it could always be a typo on Verizon's part, but we'll just have to see when it gets all official. I'm also hoping that it gets official this week.

Unknown Android Handset Spotted in the Wild, Possibly the Snapdragon Packing HTC Dragon

Labels: , , , , , ,

Although it's unclear what this HTC phone is, it could be the HTC Dragon. This would mean that this Android handset will be packed with a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU and looks like it could be running Android 2.0. Clearly, there's 3G connectivity, and it also sports 4 touch-sensitive buttons and some kind of circular trackpad button. Tmo Today suggests that the screen could be larger than 3.7-inches, but it's unconfirmed at the time. Could this really be the HTC Dragon because I was hoping for something sexier than this.

Dell Adamo XPS Launching October 22nd For $2,000; Has New [Automatic] Lid Opening Technology

Labels: , , ,

Dell's latest ultraportable notebook, the 9.99mm thin Adamo XPS, is expected to start at $1,999.99 USD and will be available starting this Thursday, October 22nd with Windows 7 pre-installed. We've just found something interesting about this notebook though. Business Week is reporting that this notebook features "a heat-sensing strip on the lip that, when swiped with a finger, glows white and automatically opens the aluminum lid." I guess this means that it's too sharp to open normally - y'know because it's so damn thin.

Low-Cost Nokia 5230 Spotted In the Wild, Delayed Until 2010?

Labels: ,

We've already seen this handset pass the FCC back in early September and now we're just got more inside details on the Nokia 5230. Clearly, it has a form factor similar to the 5800 XpressMusic, and it has: a 3.2-inch resistive touchscreen display with a 360 x 640 resolution, a 2MP camera, and Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR. It's expected to launch pretty cheap by the end of the year, but it could actually be delayed until January 2010, so that would definitely suck.
