Dell Selling the Adamo XPS Notebook For $2,000 Again
The Dell Adamo XPS that you've missed dearly is back up on Dell's own website here. Nothing has changed hardware-wise and price-wise. Apparently, the sales for this notebook is "strong" both in stores and online. You can pick one up for $1,998 and that'll get you an Intel Core 2 Duo 1.4GHz CPU, 4GB of RAM, integrated Intel graphics, and a 2.5-hour battery life.

9.9mm Thin Dell Adamo XPS Notebook Discontinued
The thinnest notebook to ever hit this world has just died - or discontinued. The Dell Adamo XPS has just vanished from the Dell website and it was only available for about three months. Dell still deserves a round of applause for shocking everyone with a 9.9 mm thin notebook though. Maybe Dell will reveal an even thinner notebook in the future but for now the Adamo XPS is gone and will slightly be missed.

Dell Adamo XPS Exclusive To John Lewis In the UK For the Holidays; Starts Shipping in the US
If you live in the UK, you won't find the Dell Adamo XPS on their website this year. That's because it will actually be an exclusive to John Lewis department stores for this holiday season. It'll likely be available on their website next year, but for now you'll have to fork over £1,750 ($2,850 USD) to get one of these. That's the base model too.
Update: According to Engadget, the Adamo XPS is actually starting to ship and arrive at their destinations. It might not be hitting absolutely everyone who pre-ordered but just know that Dell is starting to ship them out as we speak. It's an early Christmas present for you.

Dell Adamo XPS Expected To Ship On December 22nd At the Earliest, Available Now For $1,799
Although it was supposed to available alongside the Windows 7 launch (October 22nd), clearly that didn't happen. The latest news states that the earliest shipping orders will hit your doorstep is December 22nd, which is just three days before Christmas. I guess it's a small delay to pay when you're dealing with the thinnest notebook in the world (9.99mm thin).
Update: According to Engadget, the Dell Adamo XPS notebook is now available for sale with a base price of $1,799 USD. This notebook has: a 13.4-inch WLED display, an Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400 1.4GHz ULV CPU, a 128GB SSD, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 2MP webcam, WiFi, and a couple of USB 2.0 ports. Check out Dell's website here.

Three Dell Adamo XPS Prototypes, One With a Multitouch LCD Touchpad
We all know about the 9.99mm thin Dell Adamo XPS notebook, but do you ever wonder what it could've been? I like to see company prototypes and this is probably one of the most interesting ones. Apparently, Dell's prototypes for the Adamo XPS actually included multitouch capacitive LCD touchpads - as you can see above. Another prototype is the red one below that actually had the notebook's ports in a "pop-up panel."
The last prototype, below, actually has capacitive touch buttons and Dell decided not to go with this design because "people wouldn't react well to a keyboard that doesn't move" which is pretty true.

Dell Adamo XPS To Unsurprisingly Launch With Intel ULV Options
It looks like we've just got some more information about the extremely thin Dell Adamo XPS notebook. We;re hearing that this notebook will be outed with a range of Intel ULV options from the 1.4GHz to 1.9GHz clock speed ranges. We're also hearing that it comes with: a 13.4-inch display, 4GB of RAM, integrated Intel GMA 4500 graphics, 128GB / 180GB SSD options, and a standard battery that should last 2.5 hours / extended battery that should last 4 hours. We already know that this notebook will have a base price of $2,000, so it's a pretty expensive ultraportable.
Update: Engadget points out that you actually can't open this laptop if the battery dies since it uses that heat / touch-sensitive strip.

Dell Adamo XPS Shows Itself Live and In the Flesh
It looks like this is one of the first photos online of the Adamo XPS open and showing its pretty self for you. The thing is that I still don't know where the battery on this notebook is. And no, it's not available today even though we heard last weekend that it would be. As you can see it has a chiclet keyboard and a touchpad. Gizmodo mentioned that this notebook is surprisingly quite sturdy and they actually put up a video of how to open up the laptop.

Dell Adamo XPS Launching October 22nd For $2,000; Has New [Automatic] Lid Opening Technology
Dell's latest ultraportable notebook, the 9.99mm thin Adamo XPS, is expected to start at $1,999.99 USD and will be available starting this Thursday, October 22nd with Windows 7 pre-installed. We've just found something interesting about this notebook though. Business Week is reporting that this notebook features "a heat-sensing strip on the lip that, when swiped with a finger, glows white and automatically opens the aluminum lid." I guess this means that it's too sharp to open normally - y'know because it's so damn thin.

Dell Teases Yet Another Side Photo of the Adamo XPS Notebook
I don't really have much to say here, but it looks like Dell has teased yet another photo of the Adamo XPS for us. Yes, it's really thin - probably thin enough to cut any robbers that try to steal it from you. This would be an awkward way for the Adamo XPS to sit on your lap... Where's the battery at?

Extremely Thin - Under 1cm Thin - Dell Adamo XPS Shown Off; Also Unveil $5,000 Adamo Special Edition
Dell has just shown off the Adamo XPS in the wild and it is damn thin. At just 9.99mm thin (0.4-inches), it explains why they purposely leaked the first side-profile photo of it back on September 9th (09 / 09 / 09). This notebook - that doubles as an expensive frisbee - will supposedly feature SSD options and an Intel ULV CPU of some sort, due to its thin nature.
Dell wasn't going to stop there. They also unveiled a new "special edition" of their original Adamo notebook (below). As you can somewhat see, the back of the Adamo 13 lid has a "Swarovski Crystal-embedded sterling silver snake." If that's your thing you might want to join the auction because I believe they're only making a few (possibly even just one) of these. The bidding will start at $5,000 USD.

Dell Teases 0.39-Inch Thin Adamo XPS Notebook
The picture above may not look like anything big, but that's because it's a thin side profile of Dell's new upcoming Adamo XPS notebook. This seems to be the world's thinnest notebook to-date. It's thinner than the MacBook Air, it's thinner than their current Adamo, and it'll also be thinner than Sony's 0.5-inch thin Vaio X. This is the Dell Adamo XPS notebook that measures in at 9.99mm thin, which is just 0.39 inches. Since it's part of their Adamo line-up, it'll be quite expensive, especially since it has "XPS" in its name too. Thin is in.
