Samsung Releasing 4G WiMAX-Capable on Sprint Running Android Next Year

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Remember that WiMAX handset that's supposed to launch on Sprint this year? Well, it's supposed to run Android and could actually see a 2010 launch instead. The rumoured specs haven't been mentioned yet, but it's supposed to have 4G connectivity, which will mean that it will run "three to five times faster than the 3G-connected iPhone (on a good day)." Let's hope that by then Samsung's AppStore has matured enough.

Just like Toys R Us and Target stated, a new Best Buy ad lists the Nintendo Wii for $199. The price drop should be coming next week, so it's only a couple of days away - and so is my birthday! But, I don't want a Wii.

Mitac Show Off Nvidia Tegra-Based MID, Price and Release Undetermined

Labels: , , , , , ,

Mitac looks like they're working on an MID that will be powered by the Nvidia Tegra chipset. This MID will have Windows CE pre-installed and will have a custom UI and 720p media playback. It also has an HDMI output and a TV tuner, if you're interested. "Mitac also plans on selling the thing with a fold-out case / keyboard combo to sweeten the deal." We don't know about the battery life, but Nvidia said that it's "good ... for the form factor" whatever that means. We still don't know the price - but it will be "competitive" - and the release date hasn't been mentioned.

Teclast T56 PMP Features 5-Inch Touchscreen and 1080p HDMI Output

Labels: , ,

Teclast has just unveiled their latest PMP and this one is one to be reckoned with - somewhat. The Teclast T56 will have: a 5-inch WVGA display (800 x 480), an SD card slot, a USB OTG port, GPS support, an FM radio, a microphone, and an HDMI output. Unfortunately, this may or may not have a touchscreen and the internal storage is still unknown. The apps are also lacking on this device. The price and release date is also still unknown, but it's unlikely that we'll see it hit North America or Europe.

Asus AiGuru SV1T Skype Videophone Features 7-Inch Touchscreen

Labels: , ,

Just in case those grandparents of your are either afraid of or just don't know how to use the computer, this could be the device that saves your relationship with them. The Asus AiGuru SV1T Skype Videophone - that I covered back in April - features a 7-inch touchscreen display with an 800 x 480 resolution. It's fairly expensive for just a Skype machine and it seems to only have a VGA camera and 802.11 g connectivity. But, it's up to you to scoop one up if you want to.

Viewsonic Announces VNB102 Netbook and VNB132 Notebook

Labels: , , , ,

ViewSonic has just shown off their two latest laptops, the VNB102 and the VNB132 (above). The VNB102 is a netbook with standard specs such as: an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB HDD, and a 3 / 6 cell battery that will be available for $349 and $399, respectively. Check out this link for a hands-on video of the VNB102.

The VNB132 is the more desirable of the two with: a 13.3-inch display with a 1,280 x 800 resolution, an Intel ULV SU7300 CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 320GB HDD and a DVD-RW for $899. You can cut that price down and make the notebook a bit slimmer by choosing not to get the DVD drive - it'll cost about $100 less without it. The VNB132 will be available late next month with Windows 7 pre-installed.

Motorola To Release 10 Android Handsets Over the Next 6-10 Months; CLIQ Promo Video

Labels: , , , , ,

Motorola is slowly going down the drain and to get out they're going to have to ride Google's back by utilizing their open-source Android OS. They've already announced the CLIQ / DEXT and a certain "prediction" has been made. The prediction is that Motorola will be releasing ten Android-based handsets over the next 6 to 10 months. This prediction could be fairly accurate given the lengthy time span that was stated (6 to 10 months). They have yet to officially announce the Sholes, so Motorola only has 8 more to go.

The Motorola CLIQ is set to launch on T-Mobile soon and below is a short 1 minute and 10 second video on the said handset. You can take a look at MOTOBLUR on this handset, so just check it out already!

Dell, Hp, Lenovo and Sony All Hopping On 3D Notebook Bandwagon Next Year?

Labels: , , , , , ,

According to the latest rumour, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Sony are all working on shipping 3D notebooks next year. Now, we've already heard about HP's 3D notebook and I believe that was supposed to be available this year. The rumour goes on to state that 3D-capable notebooks won't be available until June of next year.

The HP notebook will appear to have an 18.4-inch 3D display and Nvidia's GeForce 3D Vision technology. Keep in mind that HP's notebook will require those funky glasses for your 3D-ness. Wistron has mentioned that these notebooks won't be significantly more expensive than regular notebooks because their technology is cheap - only price-wise I hope.

In related news, what ever happened to Acer's 3D Aspire notebook?

HDI Shows Off 100-Inch Laser-Based 3D HDTV That Owns Everything Else

Labels: , , ,

I don't really know how to say it in my own words because Engadget said it best.

Before Mitsu can even take the logical next step, a California startup has arisen to introduce what it calls the world's first laser-based 3D HDTV. We're talking 1080p 3D like you've never seen before, with CTO Edmund Sandberg noting that this production is smoother than RealD, Dolby, film and pretty much every other 3D solution. The secret here is in the speed; this set is so fast that the image "no longer needs to flash from one eye to the other," and no flashing should equate to no headaches.

If only I was able to set my eyes on that TV. I hope that they show it off at CES 2010 again because I want to see more of this - although the price will be way out of my range.
