PSP Go Gets A Slight Processor Bump

Labels: , , ,

According to the latest news, the sliding screen, etc. is not the only new feature in the PSP Go. The processor is actually 40% faster than the original. The PSP-3000 contained a 333MHz CPU, meanwhile the PSP Go reportedly has a 480MHz CPU. We don't know what it'll be used for yet, but the CPU bump shouldn't be taken as a bad thing.

LG Planning iPhone Competitor, Scheduled For This Fall

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

According to LG's wireless chief, Ahn Seung-kwon, LG will be launching a handset that will "specifically target the iPhone." He didn't mention anything about the handset, except that it will launch this Fall and will be filed under their Black Label series, joining the likes of the LG Arena and Viewty.

He also mentioned that they are planning to launch a third Prada touchscreen phone and a new luxury brand. Again, he mentioned LG's plan to take over second place in the word cellphone market share by 2012. They plan to do this by launching more smartphones than usual, since that is one of their weaker points. Do you think they can do it? I think they could if they launch some powerful Android smartphones because Windows Mobile has let them down in the past.

HTC Hero Passes Through FCC and Gets US 3G Support

Labels: , , , ,

There's not really much to say, but the HTC Hero has just creeped past the FCC adding 3G support in the process. This is the first time we're hearing about American 3G on the Hero, but we all knew it would get it, right? "For the record, Bands II and V are 1900 and 850MHz, respectively, which is exactly the combo AT&T subscribers would need to flip the switch on high-speed data." We'll see which carriers launch the Hero soon.

Update on July 15th: Those 3G bands would also be compatible for Rogers 3G, so, go Canada!

Toshiba TG01 Spotted on Orange UK's Website

Labels: , , , , , , ,

That's right, the Toshiba TG01 has just made it on Orange UK's official website. It is pegged with a "coming soon" badge, so could that mean July 9th? Maybe. Probably? All I know is that this 4.1-inch Toshiba TG01 runs WinMo 6.1 with a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU. Okay fine, maybe the WinMo thing was a bad idea, but I'm sure they couldn't go wrong with the processor.

Update: It looks like the TG01 has just been pulled from Orange UK's website, so that was pretty short-lived.
