LG Releases GC900 Viewty Smart in India!

Labels: , , , , , ,

LG has just released the LG GC900 Viewty Smart in Mumbai, India; it's priced at Rs. 27,500 ($577 USD). For a refresher, this handset has: a 3-inch multi-touchscreen display with an 800 x 480 resolution, 1.5GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, an 8MP AF camera, EDGE / GPRS / 3G / WiFi b/g support, Bluetooth + A2DP, aGPS support, TV output, and FM radio with RDS. The camera is really impressive with its Schneider-Kreuznach lens and power LED flash. It's even capable of shooting 720 x 480 resolution video @ 30fps. Don't forget the slow-motion video capabilities! Let's hope this gets released in the US by the end of the year.

LG Planning iPhone Competitor, Scheduled For This Fall

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

According to LG's wireless chief, Ahn Seung-kwon, LG will be launching a handset that will "specifically target the iPhone." He didn't mention anything about the handset, except that it will launch this Fall and will be filed under their Black Label series, joining the likes of the LG Arena and Viewty.

He also mentioned that they are planning to launch a third Prada touchscreen phone and a new luxury brand. Again, he mentioned LG's plan to take over second place in the word cellphone market share by 2012. They plan to do this by launching more smartphones than usual, since that is one of their weaker points. Do you think they can do it? I think they could if they launch some powerful Android smartphones because Windows Mobile has let them down in the past.

LG Viewty Smart Laucnhing At The End Of May; Also Confirm A 12MP Cameraphone By Year's End

Labels: , , ,

This is some big news from LG. They have just announced that the LG Viewty Smart will be available by the end of the month, exclusively at Orange stores. This upsets us over here in North America, but we'll just have to wait for our turn. The Viewty Smart is said to be the thinnest 8MP cameraphone, since it is only 12.4mm thick. It also weighs just 102 grams and is rocking LG's new 3D S-Class UI. No word on the pricing, so I'll have that for you at a later date.

LG has also gone out on a limb to mention that they will launch a 12MP cameraphone later this year. Nothing else is known about the device, but I can't wait for a side-by-side comparison of LG's 12MP smartphone and Sony Ericsson's Idou.

LG Env3 To Have 3 Megapixel Camera

Labels: , , , ,

Just like it was predicted earlier this month, the LG Env3 looks like it has been spotted with a 3MP camera. The camera will also have "Intelligent Shot", which is also included in the very sexy Viewty (II) Smart. Besides the recent 1 megapixel camera bump, the Env3 also sports a tweaked QWERTY keyboard, but nothing else is known about this fairly mysterious and underwhelming handset.

LG GC900 Viewty II Gets A Name Change; Looking Sexy

Labels: , , ,

The LG Smart aka GC900 aka Viewty II has been a bit more leaked and is now officially official. This information was found on LG's official blog, but it has been pulled off the site for now. The Viewty II really looks amazing, but I'm hoping that the touchscreen doesn't fail and that the phone doesn't come with a hefty amount of lag. Anyways, the 3-inch touchscreen you see here has a 720 x 480 (or 800 x 480 judging from Boy Genius) resolution. It also comes packed with an 8MP camera with a xenon flash and is also capable of 480p video, geotagging, aGPS, Wifi, HSDPA and you'll find this in a nice, slim 12.4mm thin body. Keep in mind that it will also have LG's new S-Class 3D UI and a whopping 32GB of storage. If you want to view more sexy Viewty II pictures then hit up the Boy Genius link below.

LG Viewty II To Hit Orange in June

Labels: , , ,

The LG Viewty II (GC900) is rumoured to be released to the UK shore - thanks to Orange - this June. The Viewty II is said to have a 3-inch touchscreen WVGA display, an 8MP camera, the new S-class 3D UI, aGPS, DivX support, WiFi, 3G, and 32GB of storage. This is a phone I'd get, if it had a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. I find it difficult to type on a virtual QWERTY keyboard. I could get used to it, but I'm going to choose not to - for now at least. This looks like a great touchscreen phone though.

Asus G71Gx, LG Viewty II, Nokia Intrigue, Apple Netbook

Labels: , , , , , ,

This is Asus at its "extravagant best." The king of laptops right here. The Asus G71Gx has a 17-inch screen with a 1,920 x 1,200 WUXGA resolution. It is sporting a "brand-new" graphics card which is the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M with 1GB of VRAM. The laptop has room for 12GB of RAM, packs dual 500GB HDD's, has Blu-ray and even Altec Lansing speakers, just in case the specs weren't enough to blow you away. No word on the availability or the price, but i'm pretty sure it will empty out your wallet and drag your bank account along with it.

Looks like the leaks from CeBIT were correct. The specs listed here are indeed from the LG (GC900) Viewty II. This includes the 3-inch touchscreen, 8MP autofocus (Schneider-Kreuznach) camera with a xenon flash, S-class 3D UI, DivX support, aGPS, WiFi and up to 32GB of memory. The camera can also shoot at 30fps, so that's not bad for a camera phone. Price and availability are still unknown though, so that will be given on a later date.

This could be the first time i actually talk about something that the everyday person can actually afford (including me). If you're not too big on specs or stuff like that then this could be the phone for you. It's the Nokia Intrigue. This flip (clamshell) phone could very well be the best-looking clamshell phone out there (according to Boy Genius). I think the phone doesn't look too bad and i have yet to see a better looking flip phone also, so i guess i'll have to agree. The phone has a 2MP camera, a microSD slot, Bluetooth and has 2 models: one being a black to gray finish and the other has a black to pink finish. Again, there's no price or availability on this handset.

First, there were rumours of a 7-9 inch iPod Touch going to be released in Q3. The rumour has now evolved into Apple developing a new netbook for early Q3, this Summer. I could be wrong, but wouldn't this be considered a tablet instead of a netbook since this so-called device is supposedly going to be a touchscreen netbook. Either way, if this is released expect people to be flocking to the Apple stores to purchase it. This idea doesn't sound half-bad since i've been hearing lots of public criticism about Apple in desperate need to sell netbooks soon.

Motorola Touch ZINE HD, Next Mortal Kombat, Flickr Gets Video, LG Viewty II

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

My dreams were shattered today. It turns out that the Motorola touchscreen phone i talked about a couple of weeks ago is a fake. It was rumoured to be called the Motorola Touch ZINE HD. It looks like it was a cross between the Motorola ZN5 and Motorola E8. Good photoshopping skills, bastards. The design was mighty gorgeous though and it looks like this won't be Motorola's Android device. It'll be something more crappy. It was too good to be true, eh Motorola?

Even though Midway is on the brink of filing for bankruptcy, the head honchos over there are deciding that they might as well release another Mortal Kombat game. This is just about the dumbest thing i've ever heard. Ed Boon, the maker of Mortal Kombat will be "picking up $900,000 for the completion and sales of Mortal Kombat vs DC. He's also getting $105,000 in bonuses for the franchise itself, coming from sales of older titles and other things like movies." Midway needs to just die already. I think it's clear to see who won in the fighting genre between Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat.

If you use Flickr, it could be your lucky day. They have just announced that everyone using Flickr will get video capabilities. So, you'll be able to upload whatever videos you want to share with other users. But, if you have the money for it, you can upgrade your account to "Pro" to include uploading HD quality movies. To be a pro member on Flickr, it's $25 USD / year. It's not an overwhelming price, but some people just choose not to pay and i would be in that category. This video service is just starting out so maybe one day you'll get to upload HD video for free.

Could CeBIT be the place where LG unveils the LG Viewty II? It certainly could be. With this picture taken from CeBIT, it could very well be the Viewty II. The LG GC900 (possibly the Viewty II) has a 3-inch touchscreen, an 8MP camera with autofocus and xenon flash, geotagging, DivX support, up to 32GB of memory, WiFi, aGPS and will even have slow motion video capabilities. The GC900 will also have the 3D S-Class UI that the LG Arena has. Unfortunately as of right now, there are no pictures of the phone and the price and availability are also unknown.

I guess i should end off mentioning that i have my first Physics test tomorrow, so i won't be blogging much tonight. This could be my only post of the night. I blogged twice during lunch already, so i guess 3 blog posts in one day is good enough. Even though with CeBIT under away, there's so much to blog about =(. Maybe i will tonight while i watch American Idol with my girlfriend. Anyways, wish me luck because i'm going to need a ton of it. Oh, and prayer would be good too. I have about 7 things starred on my Google Reader at the moment, so i could be blogging a ton tomorrow, we'll see. I am going to be busy tomorrow though as i'm planning to travel the world.
