Motorola "Bullet" and "Jet" Could Be the Company's First Quad-Core Tegra 3 Smartphones
There's a new rumour going around regarding future Motorola smartphones. Droid-Life is hearing that the company may have the "Bullet" and the "Jet" ready for early 2012 and they'll be quite the superphone. Rumoured specs for both of them include a Nvidia Kal-El CPU aka the quad-core Tegra 3, at least 1GB of RAM, NFC, a new 12MP camera, 16GB of storage, and a 960 x 540 resolution display. Of course, they'll be slightly different from each other.
The Bullet is said to have a 4.3-inch display, while the Jet could have a smaller 4-inch one. If you still can't live without QWERTY keyboards, the Jet should have a new slide-out one with "chiclet" keys. They're definitely exciting to look forward to but these seem like they're still months from release so wait up if you want to.

No more calling the 10-inch Dell Streak the Streak 10. According to the image that Android Central got their hands on, the 10-inch tablet from Dell will be the Streak Pro. Apparently, the tablet will sport a 1,280 x 800 resolution, a Tegra 2 CPU, dual cameras, and Android "Honeycomb". Sadly, the tablet will be a data-only device but that's not really a big deal since you'll be able to video chat if you want to. Furthermore, the tablet will reportedly have the traditional Stage 1.5 UI over the OS so we'll see how that works out.

iPhone 5 Mock-Up Shows iPod Touch Design, 3.7-Inch Display, and Larger Gesture-Based Home Button

We already know that Apple will be launching their next iPhone later this year and what you see above is a mock-up from This Is My Next. Keep in mind that the mock-up was rushed so it's not meant to look amazing or Apple-esque. Apparently, the model will look more like an iPod Touch and the pixel density of the smartphone will drop slightly but it'll sport a larger 3.7-inch display (same 960 x 640 resolution).
Moving along, the "Home" button will reportedly be larger and will have a "swipe area" for different types of gestures. That's some pretty good news right now but I hope someone can make a better mock-up in the meantime.

PocketNow always seems to get the press shots for upcoming smartphones first and they just got the first ones for the DROID X2, which looks like it'll actually be the DROID X^2 if you take a look at the branding on the back of the device. This one is said to feature a dual-core CPU, a 4.3-inch qHD display, more RAM, an 8MP camera, and Android. As you can see, it looks exactly like the first DROID and it's just the inside that's been upgraded.

RIM has a bunch of new BlackBerry devices scheduled for this year but it looks like only one will be getting official soon. At BlackBerry World, which takes place next week, only the Bold Touch will be getting official. That's kind of sad since we already know about six devices from them will hit the market this year. Oh well, at least we'll have something to look forward to later on in the year.

It looks like RIM's BlackBerry Playbook will be hitting a few more places in the future and Sprint might be one of them. Before you get excited keep in mind that this Playbook is just the WiFi model and not the 3G or even the 4G model that you might be waiting for. This model could be hitting Sprint on May 8th, which is in a few weeks, and the pricing should stay the same so it's not that big of a deal.
