Exact specifications are still unknown but it's like Verizon's diving head-first into a sea of Android for the holiday season. There's really not much left to tell you since we know nothing about it right now.

LG Optimus Chic and Optimus One To Be Announced At September 14th Event

Labels: , , , , ,

LG is holding an event on September 14th (same day as Nokia World) and it'll feature two of their new smartphones. We saw them at IFA and it looks like it'll be the LG Optimus Chic (E720) and the Optimus One. Now, why would they hold this event? Maybe one of these smartphones will be packing the dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 chipset. Unfortunately, the Optimus Chic will reportedly feature a 600MHz Qualcomm chip so it'll have to be the Optimus One for everything to work out. We'll just see what happens in four days.

LG E900 Gets GCF Certificate, Perfect For Europe / Asia

Labels: , , , , , ,

The WP7-based LG E900 has just hit the GCF with some good news or some bad news if you live in the wrong places. The E900 reportedly features dual-band UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA (900/2100 MHz)  / quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity which means that it'll work in Europe and Asia - not North America. Slash Gear points out that if you live in North America you shouldn't be too upset because the LG C900 has already been spotted with AT&T branding - and it features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Check it out at the GCF.

T-Mobile G2 Hits Pre-Sale For $199.99, Hitting Shelves On October 6th

Labels: , , , , ,

T-Mobile's G2 was announced at midnight on September 9th and they've issued another press release just after midnight on September 10th. This time the announcement states that it'll be available for pre-sale later today for $199.99 on a 2-year contract. Best Buy has mentioned that it'll be hitting their stores starting on October 6th. Fone Arena mentions that it's not all about clock speed for this smartphone. Inside you'll find a new Qualcomm 800MHz CPU and the benchmarks have reported that it's faster than the Samsung Captivate and just about as fast as the Nexus One running Froyo. The Captivate features a 1GHz Hummingbird CPU while the Nexus One has the oh-so-famous 1GHz Snapdragon CPU.

I'll put up the link when it's available.
