Some good news about Huawei today. First up is the Huawei M228 (above) which sports CDMA / AWS connectivity. As you can see, it looks like it's headed to MetroPCS in the US. That's actually all we know right now, so we'll just have to wait for Huawei to make this handset official.

What you see above is the Huawei C6100. This handset comes with: a QWERTY keypad, a 2MP camera, CDMA 1x connectivity, a microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. This handset just passed the FCC, so you can check it out here.

Last, but not least, it's the Huawei G7002. This handset has: a touchscreen display, GSM connectivity, Bluetooth / FM radio support, and a 1.3MP camera. This handset also passed the FCC, it's here.

AMD Launching "Nile" CPUs In H1 2010; Briefly Mention "Yukon", "Fusion", and "Bobcat" CPUs Too

Labels: , , , ,

AMD already have their Neo line-up for their netbooks and now we have just got word that they plan on launching a new line-up for thin and light notebooks. This will be called the AMD Nile and it's expected to launch in the first half of 2010.

AMD didn't stop their though. AMD's "Yukon" platform is scheduled for a Q1 2010 release. We're hearing that this will be for ultraportable notebooks - which I thought were "thin and lights" but apparently, there's a difference.

They briefly mentioned their "Fusion" processor which is expected to launch in 2011. This specific processor will have the CPU and the GPU on the same chip. Last, but not least, there's AMD's "Bobcat" CPU line-up which will be for "low-cost, low-power mobile PCs." This one will be launched in 2011 as well.

This will be in direct competition with Intel's ULV platform, of course.

Apple Preparing iPod Touches With Cameras Before the End of the Year?

Labels: , ,

Remember how Apple was supposed to pack a camera into their current iPod Touch line-up? Well, according to TUAW, Apple could actually be planning to release that iPod Touch before Christmas time, which would be really shocking - since Apple refreshed their iPods in September and they always do.

If this doesn't happen, expect them next September.

T-Mobile Launching the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and the Samsung Behold II For $199 On Contract

Labels: , , , , , , ,

This leaked photo appears to be what the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and the Samsung Behold II prices will be when they launch. Both prices will be the exact same for both handsets: $199.99 USD on a 2-year contract and $449.99 contract-free. The big shocker is that the Behold II will be launching for $199.99 since we've been hearing a couple of times that'll be launched for $249.99 on 2-year contract. But, trust me, I'm not complaining about it being a bit cheaper - even though it should probably be $179 or, even better, $149.

Don't forget that the Behold II should be made official tomorrow.

Sony Planning To Integrate Facebook Into PS3's In a Firmware Update?

Labels: , , , ,

Today we're hearing that Sony could be planning to integrate Facebook in one of their future firmware updates - it's still a rumour. I guess this is a move that wouldn't really "hurt" anyone, but I know some people won't use the service. I think it's definitely a good addition - and I believe we'll see Twitter integration later as well. Yes, Sony likely did this because the Xbox 360 did it. Although it's just a rumour, I think it's likely true.

Update: The middle photo appears to be a new grid photo layout and the right photo appears to signal off that you'll be able to change the colour of your online gamecard. Don't forget about those important updates as well. If the rumours are true, these will all be included in the next big firmware update - possibly even by the end of this month.

This isn't expected to launch until Q1 2010.

Next up is the black Nokia 3806; this candybar handset has: a QVGA display, Bluetooth 2.1 support, 4GB of internal memory. This handset isn't scheduled to launch until Q1 2010 as well.

The last handset is the Nokia 1506 which is another candybar handset. This is going to be Nokia's cheapest CDMA handset to-date, so don't expect much from it. Unlike the other two, this will be available by the end of the year.

Acer has just unveiled their latest 24-inch monitor (S243HL), which features an 8,000,000:1 (dynamic?) contrast ratio and it's LED-backlit. Acer has mentioned that this monitor has a "distinct" design to it, that's why the stand is not exactly in the centre of the display (as seen in the photo above). You can store the keyboard on the silver platter if you'd like. Other specs include: a 16:9 Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) resolution, and two HDMI ports. This monitor will be available later this year for £249 ($413 USD) which isn't exactly cheap.

Apple Now Shipping 27-Inch iMacs With Core i7 CPUs

Labels: , , , ,

Earlier this week we heard that iMacs with Intel Core i5 CPUs started to ship. Well, now we're hearing that the 27-inch iMacs with Intel's Core i7 CPUs have also started shipping. The Core i7 machines costs $200 more than the Core i5 sibling. The Intel Core 2 Duo models are still facing a 7 to 10 business day delay, so that seems just about confirmed. So, if you ordered a Core i7-packed 27-inch iMac then they should be arriving fairly shortly.
