Two Tegra 2 Devices Headed To AT&T and Verizon In Q1 2011

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

BGR has just received a pretty big tip if you're into getting the latest and greatest mobile phone. The one we've been hearing about for a long time is the Tegra 2-powered Motorola Olympus and this will reportedly be hitting AT&T in the US in January 2011. The screen is said to be "beautiful" and it's, of course, "very fast."

There's also another Tegra 2 powered device but this one will apparently be hitting Verizon with 4G (LTE) connectivity. This will be available in February / March of next year and is being codenamed the Etna. It's unknown which company this is coming from but it could very well be the LG Star, which we heard about a few weeks ago.

Update: The rumour mill is swirling and says that the Etna headed to Verizon could actually be an LTE model of the Olympus or even the DROID Incredible HD.

RIM To Release Three Playbook Models; 8GB for $399, 16GB for $499, 32GB for $599

Labels: , , ,

There's a rumour going around regarding RIM's tablet, the Playbook. Apparently, the company intends to release three models of the tablet starting at $399 which would be an 8GB model. The other models are said to be 16GB for $499 and 32GB for $599. The release date is still unknown right now but it should be in Q1 of 2011.

The sad part about this news is that all of these models are expected to be WiFi-only so maybe only the Playbook 2 (if successful) will have integrated 3G support. The pricing does sound right for what you're getting, let's just hope that the next iPad doesn't blow this one out of the water.

Sony Actually Announcing the PlayStation Phone On December 9th?

Labels: , , , ,

Maybe we won't have to wait until February 2011 after all. The latest rumour going around is that Sony could actually be announcing the PlayStation Phone at an event on December 9th. Yes this is unconfirmed right now and keep in mind that if this is true it's just an announcement, not a release. Knowing Sony, they could announce it at this event and then not reveal a release date which is why we might see at MWC 2011 again. Take it with a grain of salt people.

HTC PB92300 Hits the FCC With Two Cameras, Could Be Another Aria

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

A new HTC handset has just hit the FCC and it reportedly comes with a rear and a front-facing camera. The filing also tells us that it has GSM/EDGE (850/1900MHz) connectivity along with WiFi and Bluetooth support. It's unknown exactly what this handset is right now but the FCC label (PB92300) is the exact same as the Aria so it could be a variant of that or the successor. Check it out at the FCC.
