Like everyone else Toshiba has also decided to launch and update their notebook line-up with Intel Core i3 / i5 / i7 CPUs. The Toshiba Satellite U505 is sporting either an Intel Core i3-330M or the Core i5-430M CPU and also features a multitouch display and WiMAX. "The 14-inch E205, 15.6 inch L505, 17.3-inch L555, and 18.4 inch P505 all have Intel Core i3 and i5 options." However Toshiba's 16-inch Satellite A505 notebook can be powered by an Intel Core i3-330M / Core i5-430M / Core i7-720QM CPU and even an AMD Turion Ultra M620 processor if you choose. Not to be left out, Toshiba also updated their 18.4-inch Qosmio X505 with Intel's new Core i5 / i7 CPUs. The base model starts at $1,199.99 and features an Intel Core i5-430M CPU and a 320GB HDD. You can add in some discrete graphics, a 64GB SSD, and 6GB of RAM if you please.

Toshiba Qosmio X505 Gets the Core i5: Engadget

Since Microsoft's Windows 7 has touch capabilities built into the OS, manufacturers are looking to capitalize on that by making their notebooks touchscreen capable. Another maker not shying away from this world is Toshiba. They have just announced the Satellite U505 Touch (above) and the Satellite M505 Touch - as the name implies they both have multi-touchscreen displays. The only difference I can spot between the two is, likely, the look and the U505 has a 13.3-inch display, while the M505 has a 14-inch display.

Both notebooks appear to have: an Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 2.2GHz CPU, 4GB of RAM, a 500GB HDD, a DVD burner, an HDMI port, two USB 2.0 ports, an Ethernet port, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, a 6-cell battery, and, of course, Windows 7. The M505 and the U505 will be available on October 22nd for $949.99 USD and November 1st for $1,049.99 USD, respectively.
