Microsoft is holding their event as I type this and two carriers in Canada have just announced that they'll be getting their share of Windows Phone 7 devices. First up is Telus who announced that they'll be getting the HTC 7 Surround. This smartphone features a 3.8-inch touchscreen display, 16GB of internal storage, a 1GHz CPU, Bluetooth / WiFi support, 512MB of ROM, a 576MB of RAM, and a slide-out speaker with Dolby Mobile and SRS WOW HD audio quality. And apparently, this will be available in late October - a bit before the US release! This is pretty awesome, and you can scroll down for what Rogers will be getting.
Just announced is that Rogers will be getting the Samsung Focus. This smartphone features a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, 8GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, and a 5MP AF camera that can record 720p HD video recording. This will likely be available for $199.99 on a 3-year contract but pricing isn't official yet - release date is unknown as well. I think Rogers chose the better smartphone here. Where's Bell in all this?

Let the leaks continue! Thanks to AT&T (here) we now have the official names for a few more Windows Phone 7 handsets. The first one is the i916 / i917 Cetus which will be hitting the carrier as the Samsung Focus. Of course, we already found this out two days ago so this one shouldn't be surprising. The one pictured above appears to be the T8788 which will be launching as the HTC Surround. Last, but not least, there's the LG Quantum which you may know as the C900. All of these smartphones should pack a great spec sheet so you really can't go wrong with any of these.
Update: According to Gizmodo, the specs for the HTC Surround have just leaked out. This smartphone features a 3.8-inch WVGA touchscreen display, 16GB of internal storage (made official on-stage), a 1GHz CPU, 512MB of ROM, 576MB of RAM, Bluetooth 2.1 / WiFi support, a 5MP camera with an LED flash and 720p HD video recording, a kickstand, and a 1,230mAh battery. Oh yes, don't forget that this smartphone also features a slide-out speaker which has Dolby Mobile and SRS WOW HD audio quality, which sounds great. This will be available for $199 as well.
Update: On stage, some AT&T rep said that the LG Quantum features a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, a slide-out QWERTY, 16GB of internal storage, and a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU. The Focus features a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, a 1GHz Snapdragon, 8GB of internal storage, a 5MP camera, and a 9.9mm thin body (the thinnest WP7 handset). Both of these smartphones will be available for $199 on a 2-year contract. The Focus will be available on November 8th and the other two handsets will be available "a few weeks after".

Although it's still unconfirmed right now it's looking pretty likely. The leak you see above is, again, pointing to a November 8th launch for the first batch of AT&T Windows Phone 7 handsets. One of the handsets that will be available at launch is the Samsung Cetus, which looks like it will be called the Focus when it hits the carrier. Yes, this was spotted on Microsoft's own website, but I can't find it right now. You can check out the new Windows Phone 7 website here though.

Thanks to the 3 UK leak you see above it looks like the UK will be getting Windows Phone 7 handsets before the US will. Apparently, the launch for this Super AMOLED packing Samsung phone - likely the Cetus (i917) - will be on October 21st so you can pretty much expect a bunch of smartphones on that same day. This smartphone also features a 5MP AF camera which shouldn't be surprising. This leak says that the OS will be launching with 2,000 applications which isn't bad as long as there aren't any fart apps. It's only just over a week away!

Samsung SGH-i916 Gets Caught In the Wild, Looking Exactly Like the Cetus

I could've had the exclusive on this photo since my buddy took the picture but it's all good. I caught the tweet last night and I was pretty surprised that it would be the first to talk about it but I just decided not to since it looked exactly like the i917 Cetus. You snooze, you lose. All that aside what you see above was snapped in Canada and it's the i916 - pictured beside a jailbroken iPhone 4.
This smartphone is rocking an AMOLED display along with the upcoming Windows Phone 7 OS. This handset should also be able to run on Rogers in Canada so you can expect it to hit AT&T in the USA if it launches there.
Don't worry folks, this handset will be the star of a few more photos in the next couple of days.

Engadget has just got a nice exclusive regarding some devices. The first one is about the BlackBerry Torch; in mid to late November AT&T will be launching the two BlackBerry Torch models you see above: a red / black one and an all-white one (that could also hit Rogers in Canada). Next up is the other device that's pictured above and it's the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Just like we heard over the weekend, the tablet will be hitting AT&T and this has apparently been confirmed. Along with the tablet is three other Android phones that will be hitting the carrier before December.
Furthermore, there's the talk of three smartphones running Windows Phone 7. The first one is the Samsung Cetus (i917) and the other two were unheard of until now: the Samsung Focus and the HTC Surround. Along with these three smartphones there'll be three more WP7 handsets hitting the carrier before the holiday season. That's six WP7 devices on AT&T before the end of the year.

For Engadget's second exclusive of the day they've just nabbed photos of the Samsung Cetus (i917) which is a Windows Phone 7 handset. This smartphone is headed to AT&T in the USA and it has already hit the FCC with 3G bands. This handset is said to sport a 4-inch AMOLED display, a 5MP camera, a front-facing camera, WiFi 802.11n / Bluetooth support, GPS, an FM radio, and a microSD card slot. It looks like it could do well.

Last week we heard about a Windows Phone 7 handset from Samsung and it would reportedly be called the Cetus. Well, here's some good news if you're waiting for this one, it has just hit the FCC (filing here). This phone is packing 850/1900MHz 3G bands so it could be hitting AT&T in the USA (and Rogers in Canada). Of course, other specs include a 4-inch AMOLED display, a 5MP camera, a front-facing camera, WiFi 802.11 n / Bluetooth 2.1 support, GPS, an FM radio, and a microSD card slot. We need a picture Samsung, come on!

Although there's no current picture on what this rumoured smartphone will look like, there are some specs. The rumour states that the Samsung Cetus (SGH-i917) will feature a 4-inch WVGA AMOLED display (probably Super AMOLED), GPS support, WiFi 802.11n, an FM radio, a microUSB port, a 5MP camera, a front-facing VGA camera, Bluetooth 2.1 support, and the Windows Phone 7 OS. The specs seem pretty on-par to be quite similar to the Galaxy S - with WP7 instead.
