Lumigon Redesigns Their Froyo-Based Smartphone, Wastes a Bunch Of Space As Well

Labels: , , , ,

Way back in February we first about a company, Lumigon, and they would be ramping up a few Android-based smartphones for the market. Well, they've gone through some changes since the last time we saw them. They still a bit elegant but this new model has a lot of wasted screen estate. The render (above) was posted on their Facebook page and shows off a d-pad, four hard buttons, a logo, a possible front-facing camera, and a microSD card slot. Like I said, the screen could be better but the OS should be Google's Android 2.2 "Froyo" so it's not all bad.

Lumigon To Announce Their First Smartphone On October 20th, Likely Running Android

Labels: , , , ,

Lumigon has just announced that they'll be unveiled their first smartphone and it'll be the T1. Sadly, the company has mentioned that they'll be announcing this smartphone on October 20th so it's still quite far away. This handset should be sporting an HDMI output along with some version of Android (hopefully 2.2 or 3.0). Check out Lumigon's Facebook page if you have some free time.

Lumigon Unveils Three Android 2.1 Phones, The T1, S1, and E1

A small brand, Lumigon, has just unveiled a couple of Android 2.1. They're looking quite good for a brand I've never heard of before. Their three Android phones are the T1, S1, and E1 which will all feature capacitive touchscreen display, aGPS support, an HDMI output, and Freescale i.MX51 CPUs. Of course, they've worked on their own custom UI over top of Android 2.1 which is "to give the user even more user-friendliness." The T1 will be on sale in ths next couple of months, the S1 will be available a month or two after that, and the E1 will launch later this year.

The full spec sheets haven't been mentioned but we do know that you'll be able to use these phones as universal remotes and you'll be able to use the company's own Bluetooth keyboard. Don't know how that'll work right now, but maybe they'll demo it at MWC.
