We just found out yesterday that the Huawei U8100 would be WIND Mobile's first Android handset and it looks like they have already released it. It's now available (here) for $160 contract-free and it's a pretty good deal for the price - if you can type on the small virtual QWERTY keyboard that is. Other specs include: a 2.8-inch touchscreen display with a 240 x 320 resolution, an FM radio, WiFi support, a microSD card slot, GPS support, a 3.2MP camera, an 1,150 mAh battery, and Android 2.1. Mobile Syrup has a bunch of pictures of this handset so you might want to click on through

If you live in Canada and you love WIND Mobile then you should probably keep your eye out for another handset that will be hitting the carrier. This will be WIND's first Android device and it'll be the mid-end Huawei U8100. This handset packs a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, a 3.2MP camera, and WiFi support. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a slide-out [physical] QWERTY keyboard so it'll be just about impossible to type on the virtual QWERTY.

WIND Mobile in Canada has just announced that they do plan to launch Android phones in the future and there'll be one or two before the end of the year. The first one is believed to be the Huawei U8100 (above) and the other could possibly be from Motorola. Along with that, they'll also be launching more smartphones from RIM, Nokia, Samsung, and HTC. The BlackBerry Pearl (9100) will be joining they line-up, seeing how it was spotted in a previous WIND Mobile magazine.

Huawei has just announced three more Android handsets, the U8300 (above) and the U8100 / U8110 (below). The U8300 will be sporting three bright colours: yellow, green, and purple and will have social integration. The full spec sheet hasn't been mentioned yet but it doesn't look like it'll fold...

The U8100 is above and the U8110 is below. The spec sheets on both are virtually identical so it's just the look that is different. Both of these handsets are said to be sporting a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display, a 3.2MP camera on the back, a front-facing 0.3MP camera, and WiFi / Bluetooth support. The colours aren't official yet, but they're definitely confirmed to be hurting my eyes. Anyways, both of these handsets are set to debut in Europe in Q2 of this year.
