HP has already unveiled a bunch of new notebooks and we'll start off with these two, the 2540p and the 2740p - both of them fall into their EliteBook series. The 2540p notebook sports a 12.1-inch LED-backlit display with a 1,366 x 768 resolution, Intel Core i3 / i5 / i7 CPU options, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, a bunch of different HDD / SSD options, an optional 2MP webcam, a fingerprint scanner, and a Qualcomm Gobi chipset (integrated 3G). There are also a couple of other things like gigabit Ethernet, a VGA port, a couple of USB 2.0 ports, an ExpressCard slot, audio in / out, WiFi b/g (optional a/b/g/n) / Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR support, and a 3 / 6 / 9-cell battery options. Of course, this notebook will be available with Windows 7 and will be released in April for a base price of $1,099.

EliteBook 2740p notebook tablet which sports a 12.1-inch multitouch swiveling multitouch display (1,280 x 800 resolution) and there's Intel Core i5 / i7 CPU options inside. This is a rugged notebook that has 320GB HDD / 160GB SSD options and other things like the Gobi chipset and an MIL-STD 810G rating which means that it can withstand dust, vibration, and some light drops. The rest of the specs are similar to the 2540p so it's packing a pretty good spec sheet. This notebook will also be available in April starting at $1,599. Oh yes, the UltraSlim Expansion base (a DVD burner and an eSATA port) should be available in April as well for about $299.
