In France, Archos has just released their 4.8-inch Internet Tablet. Dubbed the Archos 5 Internet Tablet, it's packing a touchscreen display and a 64GB SSD. This tablet is packing Android and is available for you to purchase for €399.98. Check it out here.

Remember that Archos 5 tablet? Well, the 8GB model appears to be available now at Radio Shack. It's available for $249.99 and, yes, this is the 8GB SSD model (with Android) I'm talking about. On Amazon, you'll find the 32GB model for $379.99 so this could be for you especially since you can just add in a microSD card for more storage. Check it out here.

Well, it looks like there's some bad news for customers looking to get the Archos 5 Android-based tablet. According to Amazon (here), the "item [is] under review." We don't know what this means right now, but there seems to be some kind of problem. In the meantime you can still order the 32GB model here and pre-order the 500GB model here.

It looks like the Archos 5 has just been spotted on Amazon. Right now there are three models available: one with 32GB of internal storage, one with 160GB, and the other has 500GB. Archos has gone out and made their Archos 5 MID official! So, yes, it does run Android and also has: a 5-inch touchscreen display with an 800 x 480 resolution, an ARM Cortex A8 CPU, a built-in TV recorder, GPS support, and up to 500GB of internal storage. This MID also has standard, but necessary features like WiFi and Bluetooth. The Archos 5 will be available later this month for £199.99 ($330 USD) and the most expensive model will cost £349.99 ($577 USD).

Update: Well, it looks like Archos didn't wait to long. The Archos 5 has just been spotted on Amazon for pre-orders in three prices: $329.99 for a 160GB HDD, $379.99 for a 32GB SSD, and $429.99 for a 500GB HDD. The Android-based Archos 5 MID that is expected to get officially announced on September 15th has just been pictured in black. We saw it in white last week, but I personally like black devices better. The Archos A5 is expected to launch for $294 USD for a 16GB SSD, $370 for a 32GB SSD, and $420 for a 500GB HDD.

The A5 is rumored to have 720p video output, but like the Zune HD, you'll have to buy a dock, and the A5's is a pricey one with DVR functionality at $130.

Remember the Archos 5 MID / Internet tablet that is reportedly running Android? Well, the event Archos is holding on September 15th is probably going to be the official announcement of the device. Fortunately for us, the FCC has leaked out documents on the latest Archos 5 MID - labelled A5S and A5H. This is probably what we'll see on the 15th - just a heads-up.

Archos is going to hold an event on September 15th and it will reportedly star the Archos 5. The Archos 5 is a 5-inch MID that will be running Android; it will have a WVGA display, 720p video support, an HDMI output, 500GB of storage, 3.5G connectivity, and a battery life long enough to last 7 hours of video. This event will go through the specs of the MID and Archos will introduce AppsLib, which is their own app store. Surprisingly enough, the September 15th date lines up with what we've heard before.

Big news today! Remember that Android-based 5-inch Archos 5 MID / tablet? Well, a recent leak points to Archos releasing this MID on September 15. This is pretty big news, seeing how just 2 days ago, they announced the Archos 2 / 3 / 9. We'll see how this MID / tablet fares out, but it looks quite promising with a rumoured 5-inch touchscreen display and 500GB of onboard storage. It's also been said that it will be just 10mm thick aka 1cm. Hopefully, Archos will officially announce this MID / tablet soon because I want to know more about this.
