Labels: , , , , ,

First up in this post is the Motorola Rival that's now available on Telus for as low as $99 on a 3-year contract. Other prices are as follows: $199.99 on a 2-year contract, $249.99 on a 1-year contract, and $299.99 contract-free. Just in case you forgot, the Rival has: a 2.2-inch display with a 176 x 220 resolution, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 2MP camera, 130MB of on-board memory, a microSD card slot, and the Telus Navigator.

Fido also released a handset yesterday, the Nokia 1661. The Nokia 1661 has: a 1.8-inch display with a 128 x 160 resolution, a flashlight, and an FM radio. Fido is now selling this phone for free on a 2-year contract or for $55 CAD on a pre-paid plan. These prices are exactly what we were expecting them to be.

Rogers Slashes Price of the HTC Dream and Magic in Canada Again, Now Just $79

Labels: , , ,

They launched at $149 and then dropped to $99 on a 3-year contract on Rogers early last month. Well, now "The Revolution" aka the HTC Dream and HTC Magic is now available for just $79 CAD on a 3-year contract in Canada on Rogers. The contract-free price is still the same though, which is $599.99 CAD. It's kind of sad to see these phones not doing as well as I thought they would, but hopefully Android will be successful in the future.

Samsung Chianti / Reclaim M560 Rumoured to be Available on Sprint on August 16th

Labels: , ,

We heard about this handset back in March, so it's been quite a while since we've heard anything about this handset. This is actually the Samsung Chianti; the Samsung Reclaim M560 is rumoured to be available on Sprint starting on August 16th. This phone has: a 2.3-inch display, a 2MP camera, a slide-out QWERTY keypad, and GPS support. If the specs we heard back in March stay true, we should also expect: Bluetooth, a microSD card slot, 3G support, but no WiFi. So, don't forget, August 16th - it's still a rumour though.

Lenovo IdeaCentre C100 Nettop is Uninteresting, Until Windows 7 Comes Out

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Lenovo has just shown off their latest all-in-one nettop and it's the IdeaCentre C100. Right now, it's really uninteresting built with: a 20-inch display, an Intel Atom 1.6GHz N270 CPU, 1 / 2GB of RAM, a DVD burner, and an 80 - 160GB HDD. The webcam and WiFi are optional, which is why it is so cheap; the expected price tag for this system is just "around $400." When this is available it will be running Windows Vista -- initially.

When Windows 7 comes out, Lenovo will be kind enough to update this all-in-one nettop for us. They will include a touchscreen into this nettop, so that will make it just a little bit more interesting. Of course with the inclusion of a touchscreen and the Windows 7 OS, the price will jump up a little bit.

Third LG Black Label Phone Spotted, the LG BL20?

Labels: , , , ,

Well, looky here, the user agent profile for what appears to be the LG BL20. We don't know what this is at the time, but Cell Passion suspects that it could be another LG Black Label handset. There's already the LG BL40 and the less interesting LG BL42, so I guess that this could be a lower-end handset. As of right now, all that's known about this LG BL20 is that it has a 240 x 320 resolution (QVGA) display and GSM/UMTS connectivity.
