Velocity Micro Unveils 7, 8, and 10-Inch Android Tablets At CES
Velocity Micro was another company that brought their fair share of tablets to CES. They've introduced the 7-inch Cruz Tablet L37, 8-inch P38, and the 10.1-inch L510 and they're all running Google's Android OS. Differences? Starting with the L37, it features a 1,024 x 600 resolution, WiFi 802.11n support, 4GB of internal storage, dual-cameras, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 support, a microHDMI port, and optional 3G. The P38 is pretty much the exact same tablet but actually features a slightly better 1,024 x 768 resolution display.
Last, but not least, there's the Cruz Tablet L510. This one's the best of the trio. It features a much better 1,366 x 768 resolution display along with Nvidia's Tegra 2 chipset. The sad part about all of this is that the company has decided that they'll be launching these tablets pre-installed with Android 2.2 / 2.3 and not "Honeycomb" which is a bit sad. Price and release dates are still unknown as well.

Velocity Micro Release T30 Italia Thin-and-Light Notebook and Vector Campus Edition Desktop PC
Velocity Micro has decided to announce and release two new back to school PCs. First up is the one you see above which is the 13.3-inch T30 Italia which is a thin-and-light notebook. Inside you'll find a 1.3GHz Intel Pentium CPU, 3GB of RAM, a 120GB HDD, WiFi, a fingerprint scanner, an HDMI output, an optional external DVD burner, and Windows 7. You get all of that for a whopping $999 (here), which is definitely overpriced.
Velocity Micro didn't stop there though, they also have a new Vector Campus Edition desktop PC. Inside of this desktop you'll find Intel Core i5 2.66GHz / Core i7 2.8GHz CPU options, 4GB of RAM, Nvidia GeForce GT 220 graphics (optional GTX 260 GPU), a 1TB HDD, and Windows 7. The base model for the desktop PC is $899 but you'll spend more than that if you want to upgrade the RAM, include a second 1TB HDD, a Blu-ray reader, and a TV tuner. Check it out here.

Back in April we heard about the Velocity Micro Cruz which turned out to be a 7-inch Android tablet. Well, it's been shown off once more and this time there's a video (below). The one you see here in the picture and the video is confusingly named the Cruz Reader, which Engadget points out is actually more of a "full-fledged tablet" since it has access to games, apps, and web-browsing - basically things a tablet should do. This will be retailing for $199 and should be available soon. You can also expect their Cruz Tablet running Android sometime in August and that will actually cost you $299. The Cruz Tablet will feature 4GB of internal storage, an SD card slot (8GB in the box), and Flash support. Velocity Micro will also be releasing a $149 StoryPad which is said to feature a spill-resistant case with some basic functionalities.

Velocity Micro Cruz (Tablet and Reader) Surfaces, 7-Inches Running Android 2.1 With Flash 10.1 Support
Velocity Micro - a company I've never heard before - has just shown off their latest tablet and it's going to be running Android 2.1. Dubbed the Cruz Tablet, this will sport a 7-inch capacitive multitouch display, an 800MHz CPU, a 2MP front-facing webcam, and Flash 10.1 support. It'll come with a docking station so that you can use it as a digital picture frame whenever you want. The price tag is expected to be right around $300 and it'll be released in "late Summer" whenever that is. One prototype photo is below, check out the Engadget link for more photos.
Update: According to Crunch Gear, Velocity Micro also has a Cruz Reader in the making as well. This one is going to be priced at $199.99. There'll be access to the "Cruz Market" for both devices. The differences between the Cruz Tablet and the Cruz Reader aren't clear right now.
