MetroPCS Releases the Huawei Ascend For $179, Still Running Android 2.1

Labels: , , , ,

MetroPCS has just launched another Android budget phone and it's the Huawei Ascend. This one packs a 3.5-inch HVGA display, a 3.2MP camera, a microSD card slot, and Android 2.1. This one's available right now for $179 contract-free so it's up to you to decide if it's worth it or not. There's really not much left to tell you but it'll be quite a risk buying something made by Huawei. If you're brave enough then check it out on MetroPCS.

Android-Based Huawei (C8600) Ascend Hitting Cricket For $150 Contract-Free

Labels: , , , , , ,

Huawei may have a smartphone that you might want to check out soon. It's already available in China but it looks like it will be hitting Cricket in the USA as well. The phone we're talking about here is the C8600, which will be launching as the Huawei Ascend. The Ascend features a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display, a 3.2MP camera, EV-DO Rev. A connectivity, and Android 2.1. That's some pretty decent specs when you consider the price. This smartphone will cost you just $150 contract-free, so I think that it's definitely worth the buy - or at least, try.

Huawei C8600 Runs Android 2.1 and Hits China Telecom In May

Labels: , , , , ,

Huawei has just unveiled their latest Android phone, the C8600. It'll be running Android 2.1 with a custom UI (called Dynamic Desktop) and it packs a 3.5-inch capacitive multitouch display, CDMA2000 connectivity, and a 1,500mAh battery. This handset should hit China Telecom in May (next month), but the price wasn't mentioned. This is probably the best handset that Huawei has announced to date.
