Haier Shows Off TV Prototype That's Powered Wirelessly
You may be wondering how this TV is on even though it has no wires and doesn't seem to be plugged it. Well, this prototype from Haier is actually a wireless TV. The TV itself isn't all that thin and neither is the power unit in the back. It'll power your TV with absolutely no wires thanks to it beaming RF waves into a coil in the back of the TV. If you want to read all the scientific facts then check out the link below. They're calling this WHDI (Wireless Home Digital Interface) technology.

Haier has just unveiled their latest netbook tablet - the X220 - at CES 2010. There are better netbook tablets out there, especially considering that it's running the old school Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz CPU alongside 1GB of RAM, a 10.1-inch multi-touchscreen swiveling display, and Windows XP Home. Haier did mention that they plan on updating it later this year with an Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz CPU and Windows 7. The current version is launching for $429.99 USD.

Haier is back at it, this time showing off a new 8GB PMP. This is rocking the chrome bezel found on the iPod Touch / iPhone and could be the cheapest touchscreen PMP to-date. They're targeting a $100 price point for this PMP (8GB model), so it wouldn't be surprising. A 4GB model is expected to cost $90.
With the Haier Theatre (that's what it's called), you'll get: a 3-inch touchscreen display, an FM tuner, and 12 hours of battery life. You'll also receive 35 free music download, thanks to Haier themselves, but only if you sign up for a 14-day trial with eMusic.

What you see here is actually an ultra-thin notebook from Haier. Don't let the name fool you since it's called the Jian i7 - no, it doesn't have a Core i7 CPU inside. This notebook is going to have: a 13.4-inch LED-backlit display, an Intel Core 2 Duo 1.3GHz ULV SU7300 CPU, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, integrated graphics, a 320GB HDD, three USB 2.0 ports, a VGA / HDMI output, and a 4-cell (2,900 mAh) battery. Surprisingly enough, this notebook is only 3.2cm thick and just about 3 pounds. Oh yeah, expect the Jian i7 to retail for around ¥6,000 ($879 USD).

Rogers Will Have 4G By 2010, Wii's and PS3's (and 360's) Audience, BenQ nScreen i91, Haier's Devices, Maingear Prelude 2 Is 3D

For some Canadian news today, a strong rumour has it that Rogers is slowly gearing up towards 4G services by 2010. February 2010, to be exact. It may be first hitting Vancouver before anywhere else, but whatever. "The company also reportedly promises fast downstream speeds in real conditions. A connection without any optimization produces about 50Mbps. Techniques to optimize the link would net about 70Mbps by the time the service is available." This looks like good news and we're about a year away from 4G, yes!
BenQ has finally released their first all-in-one PC. The 18.5-inch nScreen i91 will also have 1GB of memory (only!?), a 160GB HDD and a webcam. This may not seem too attractive at first, but it will only cost you around $517 USD. That's fairly cheap for an all-in-one PC. Looks like BenQ is just looking out for the consumer, cause of the current economic crisis. The i91 seems to be running Vista with 1GB of memory in the screenshot, so i suggest you get a Windows 7 Beta CD (or torrent it) for the well-needed upgrade. Windows 7 runs better with a minimal amount of RAM compared to Vista.
Haier showed off a variety of devices at this year's MWC, including: MID's, netbooks and phones. While there were no specs on most of their devices, there were 2 devices that were Android-based. There was a phone that looked like the Blackberry 8900 and also another one that was similar to the Storm. The phone that looked similar to the Storm was running a new OS, but there is no word on the other devices.
This interesting looking thing here is the Prelude 2 from Maingear. Judging from their own word, they make "high perfomance luxury computers." By utilizing the NVIDIA's GeForce 3D Vision, Maingear was able to make this 3D gaming system. The PC also comes equipped with a 22-inch SyncMaster display, Intel's Core i7 processor and also has the funky-looking 3D glasses inside for you. WoW in 3D anyone? I heard it's not all it's cracked up to be.
