Samsung W960 AMOLED 3D Hitting South Korea Soon, 3D Without Glasses On a Phone!

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

We've heard about this handset for just about 2 months now and we're getting some solid information now. The Samsung SCH-W960 AMOLED 3D handset will definitely support 3D images / video without the need for glasses! This is good news, but there's no clue what kind of technology they're using. The handset itself packs a 3.2-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with a WQVGA resolution, a 3.2MP AF camera, 3G / HSPA connectivity, a T-DMB TV tuner, Bluetooth support, a microSD card slot, and Samsung's own Touchwiz 2.0 UI.

Sadly, it'll only be hitting South Korea via SK Telcom, KT, and LG Telecom. This will be available sometime before the end of this quarter - so expect it before the end of June.

Samsung SCH-W960 Handset Spotted In the Wild, Actually Not Sporting 3D?

Labels: , ,

Remember the SCH-W960 handset from Samsung? Well, it's just been pictured in the wild today and the sad part is that the screen is 0.1-inches smaller than we thought it would be. The specs list the AMOLED display as being 3.2-inches, but thankfully the resolution got a bump up to WVGA (from WQVGA). Another sad part of the phone is that the 3D capabilities aren't confirmed yet and tthey might've been referring to was just the 3D menu. Either way let's hope Samsung can clear this up.

Samsung SCH-W960 Is Another 3D Phone Not Headed to the US

Samsung looks like they're leading the charge for 3D-capable phones. This one is the SCH-W960 which will actually convert 2D content to 3D if you want. When you get dizzy you'll be able to turn it off. This one comes packed with a 3.3-inch WQVGA (Super?) AMOLED touchscreen display, a 3MP camera with a xenon flash, a dual DMB TV tuner, DivX support, and DNSe 2.0. The official announcement could be very soon, and it'll be hitting South Korea.
