Windows Phone 7 Series Phones To Have Three Different Designs

We've seen Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 Series mobile OS at MWC and now we're hearing that the hardware will come in 3 different designs or chassis. The first one is the most obvious, just the traditional candybar form with a large, nice touchscreen display. Another design is said be like a Palm Treo, so it'll sport a QWERTY keypad on the front with a small touchscreen display on there as well. The third one isn't confirmed but we'll definitely see it at MIX 2010 later this year. Some people are guessing that it'll be a large touchscreen display with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, but it's not certain.

Windows Mobile 7 Roadmap Briefly Mentioned, Launching This Year

We already heard Digitimes reporting that Windows Mobile 7 would be making a launch this year, but CNet is doing the same thing. They are reporting that WinMo 7 will be available this year and it'll be showing up at MWC 2010. It'll also be making an appearance at MIX 2010 but it'll be focusing on the gaming aspect of the mobile OS. It looks like the LG Apollo and HTC Obsession (Diamond 3?) could really be getting launched later this year - with Snapdragon on-board.

Internet Explorer 8

It will finally be released tomorrow at noon EST. Microsoft is using the MIX 09 conference for Web developers "as the launchpad for IE 8." In the picture, IE8 will evidently have their own private browsing mode, called "InPrivate", which is no surprise. For more details, regarding Internet Explorer 8, go to the CNet News link here.

Microsoft Silverlight 3 Beta

At the MIX 2009 press conference Microsoft has announced their Silverlight 3 beta. The download links are here via "next best geek" blog. This is Microsoft's competitor to Adobe's Flash and the final Silverlight 3 build is scheduled to be released before the end of 2009. More news is expected from Microsoft at this year's MIX press conference. They may possibly announce the release of their newest browser, Internet Explorer 8
