It looks like Palm's first tablet or new device is being codenamed the "Topaz". What you see above is clearly a look at an accessory for that device and it's a keyboard. Sadly there's no picture of the tablet / new device right now. All the specs are above, including: a chiclet keyboard, and an on and off switch. Actually a lot of the specs mention that it's actually missing key features like backlighting, a numeric keypad, and adjustable tilt. Kind of a let down, but it's what Apple does with their keyboard - and they still manage to sell them.
The "Topaz" tablet itself is said to be "extremely slick" and will have no buttons. It's expected to hit the market sometime in the first half of 2011. Engadget is also hearing that Palm is working on another variant of the Pre designed for teens and it actually won't have a slide-out QWERTY keyboard so you'll be stuck dealing with the virtual QWERTY. This is reportedly codenamed the "Castle" and will be hitting Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T in the US so maybe it'll be hitting a carrier in Canada as well. We're still waiting for a high-end smartphone from Palm.
