Shinoda Display Tests 145-Inch and 0.9mm Thin $430,000 Flexible Plasma Display
Back in May, we heard about Shinoda Display's 145-inch plasma TV and it was bendable. Well, Shinoda is now reportedly testing out their PTA (Plasma Tube Array) technology again with a 0.9mm thin 145-inch plasma display. This display costs $430,000 USD and is actually flexible as well. Unfortunately, this TV will suck up 1,0000W of power and weighs 180kg. Clearly, it's the complete opposite of an eco-friendly display.

Shinoda Unveils 1mm Thick Plasma TV; But, It's Super Heavy
Maybe, I should have said 1mm thin. A couple of days ago, Shinoda released a 145-inch behemoth plasma TV that was just 15.8 pounds. But, don't let this 1mm thin plasma TV fool you. While being extremely thin, apparently it is also "super heavy." The widescreen plasma you see here is actually made up of 6 smaller plasma displays, to produce one giant display. That's all that is known, but I was actually curious to know the exact weight of this display, but it's actually unknown. I'm guessing it's quite heavy because that stand looks quite sturdy.

Shinoda's 145-Inch Plasma Display Weighs Just 15.8 Pounds
Yes, that's right. Plasma TV sets are usually extremely heavy, but Shinoda found a way around that. Their PTA technology allowed them to make this 145-inch curved plasma display. While the picture may not be all that clear, since it only has a 960 x 720 resolution, it is extremely light for its size. Believe it or not, but this huge display weighs just 7.2kg, which is just 15.8 pounds. Who knows if these will ever be commercially available, but it doesn't matter to me. It just seems like a display that's just meant for showcasing anyway.
