It may not have a Nvidia Ion chipset, but the Samsung N140 netbook seems to be pretty desirable. Samsung plans to release the N140 netbook to the US this November with Windows 7 Starter Edition pre-installed. It'll be available for $399 USD. And yes, this netbook has an 11.6-inch matte display - thankfully no glossiness - and could have a 250GB HDD. We'll just have to see what happens as the launch date draws closer and closer.

A new promo video of the upcoming N140 netbook from Samsung has just been spotted on YouTube. This 10.1-inch netbook isn't available in the US yet, but we're hoping that Samsung will announce the price for us over here.

Samsung Russia has just announced two new 10.1-inch netbooks, the N130 and N140. Both of these netbooks will have: a 10.1-inch display with a 1,024 x 600 resolution, integrated Intel GMA 950 graphics, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB HDD, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, an integrated 0.3MP webcam, three USB 2.0 ports, VGA output, and a card reader.

The differences between the two netbooks is that the N130 has: an Intel Atom 1.6GHz N270 CPU, a 1.5W moono speaker, and a 3-cell (2,300 mAh) / 6-cell (4,000 mAh) battery. The Samsung N120 netbook and this netbook are pretty darn similar... The N140 netbook, on the other hand, has: an Intel Atom 1.66GHz N280 CPU, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, 3W stereo speakers, and 6-cell batteries with both 5,200 and 5,900 mAh capacities.

The price hasn't been mentioned, but they should be available pretty soon.

Update: According to CNet News, the N140 netbook will have an estimated 11-hour battery life.
