Lenovo Announces 11.6-Inch IdeaPad U150 and Core i7-Packing 15.6-Inch IdeaPad Y550 Notebooks

Lenovo has just revealed two more notebooks that they are set to launch. The first one is the IdeaPad U150 notebook. This notebook features: an 11.6-inch display with a 1,366 x 768 resolution, Intel Core 2 Duo [ULV] CPU options, up to 8GB of RAM, integrated Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics, and an HDMI output. This notebook will be available in mid-November for $585 USD with Windows 7.

The other notebook they have announced is the IdeaPad Y550. This notebook is pretty powerful with: up to 8GB of RAM, a 500GB HDD, Nvidia Geforce GT 240M graphics, and Intel's Mobile Core i7 CPU inside. This 15.6-inch laptop should have a base price around $1,400 USD. Of course, Windows 7 will be on-board.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Y550 is now available with the exciting touch-sensitive Desktop Navigator shortcut bar that you see below. The Y550 sports: a Core 2 Duo T4200 2GHz CPU, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, a 250GB HDD, a 6-cell battery, and a DVD writer for just $669 USD. If those specs aren't enough for you and you're willing to spend almost double the price, you can get an upgraded version of the laptop. For $1,199 USD, you will be getting: 4GB of RAM, Nvidia's GeForve G 105M 512MB graphics, and also 500GB of HDD. Below is an IdeaPad Y650 sporting the Desktop Navigator.

Lenovo IdeaPad Y550 Now Spotted On NewEgg For $900

The IdeaPad Y550 notebook from Lenovo has just been spotted on NewEgg, by yours truly. The IdeaPad Y450 was announced just a couple of days ago, so it's no surprise that this is finally available. The IdeaPad Y550 has: a 15.6-inch display with a WXGA (1,366 x 768) resolution, an Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz T6400 CPU, 4GB of RAM, a 320GB HDD, Intel's GMA 4500MHD graphics, an ExpressCard slot, WiFi, a DVD burner, an integrated 1.3MP webcam, and a 6-in-1 card reader. It also comes with a couple of ports: 3 USB 2.0, VGA, HDMI, and microphone / headphone jacks. The IdeaPad Y550 is also shipping with a 6-cell battery that is supposed to give you 4.5 hours of battery life. The notebook itself weighs 6.06 pounds and costs $899.99 USD off of NewEgg.

Update: As of May 13, the IdeaPad Y550 is now available on the official Lenovo website with a base price of $599 USD. I found this out, thanks to the anonymous comment.

Lenovo IdeaPad Y450 Now Shipping

The 14-inch Lenovo IdeaPad Y450 notebook is now shipping to its buyers. The Y450 will have Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics, a DVD writer, a 6-cell battery, and will run on Windows Vista Home Premium. For the base price of $679 USD, you will be getting a 2.16GHz Intel Dual Core T3400 CPU. If you're willing to spend $829 USD, then you will upgrade your notebook to a 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 CPU, 4GB of DDR3 SDRAM, and a 320GB HDD. If you want a bigger screen you can always go for the IdeaPad Y650 or wait for the 15.6-inch IdeaPad Y550.
