Dell has just unveiled a couple of new notebooks, as a part of their Inspiron line-up: 13R, 14R, 15R, 17R, and M501R. All of these notebooks are more customizable than their non-R models. They all pack Core i3 / i5 CPU options while the M501R has an AMD Phenom II X4 2.3GHz CPU.  This AMD CPU is new and actually hasn't even been officially announced. The GPUs in all of these notebooks are either integrated Intel or discrete from ATI. Apparently, these notebooks all have Dell's own Dock so they're perfect for "moms and youths." There also appears to be more options in the wireless, OS, and RAM categories. Check it out on Dell's website here.

At Dell's press event this morning at CES they showed off their latest gaming Alienware notebook - the M11X. It's actually more like a netbook considering its 11.6-inch display, but this thing is pretty loaded. Inside it's packing Nvidia GT335M swappable graphics, a battery life that's good enough for 6 hours (using the power saver mode) and 2 hours of hardcore gaming. Surprisingly enough this notebook will go for less than $1,000 when they launch it - whenever that is. Check out Engadget's hands-on here.

Along with this news the briefly mentioned that their Inspiron notebook line-up (the 13, 15, and 17-inch models) will get updated today to use Intel's new Core i3 / i5 CPUs. Below is a picture of when they teased their Streak MID on stage. Unfortunately they mentioned absolutely nothing about it. Nothing at all.

Thankfully, I don't live in the US or I'd be pissed. I just ordered my Inspiron 15 - but I live in Canada - notebook last Friday and Dell USA has just released two new Intel ULV-packing notebooks. Dell has just released the 14-inch Inspiron 14z and the 15.6-inch Inspiron 15z. These models basically have the same specs, so you'll find: a 1,366 x 768 resolution, an Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400 1.4GHz CPU, integrated Intel GMA X4500HD graphics, up to 8GB of RAM, up to a 500GB HDD, Bluetooth, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/Draft-N, a 7-in-1 card reader, a 1.3MP webcam, and a 6-cell battery that should last up to 8.5 hours on the 14z.
