Samsung Announces the Windows 7 Powered 11.6-Inch Series 7 Slate
Samsung may have unveiled the sexy Series 7 notebooks just yesterday but it looks like they have yet another product in the pipeline. What you see above is the Samsung Series 7 Slate which is going to be running Windows 7 - but should be upgradeable to Windows 8. Either way Samsung feels like they'll be able to sell a bunch of these but it'll be tough when it starts at $1,099.
Beneath the 11.6-inch 400-nit display (1,366 x 768 resolution and Wacom-enabled) it packs an Intel Core i5-2467M CPU, 4GB of RAM, a 64GB / 128GB SSD, a 3MP camera, a front-facing 2MP webcam, a stylus, and a 30-second boot time. Of course, it also has a bunch of ports like a microHDMI, a SIM card slot, and a USB port. It's a pretty good tablet but I don't feel like Windows 7 is the ideal tablet OS though some people may disagree.
