Philips Unveils More Ambilight HDTVs; Their 21:9 HDTV Expected In Summer
Philips has just revealed a couple more HDTVs as a part of their own 7000, 8000, and 9000 Series (not to be confused with Samsung's, of course). These TVs will be Ambilight and will have LED-backlit technology. The higher-end (8000 and 9000 Series) of those HDTVs will have 1080p resolution along with 3D capabilities so that's pretty cool. Each TV set will have a 3D upgrade pack option which will cost you a bit of money but it includes two Active3D glasses and a wireless transmitter. The release date or the price hasn't been mentioned.
Philips also unveiled an Immersive Sound home theater system and the Soundbar HTS9140. Oh yeah, their 21:9 aspect ratio HDTV is expected to launch in Summer 2010...
