Microsoft Finally Admits That They're Threatened by Linux and Apple

Yup, they just publicly stated that they face "strong competition from well-established companies with differing approaches to the PC market." This is coming as a shock to me, since Microsoft has never announced anything like this before. They also mentioned that they are threated by "variants of Unix, are supplied by competitors such as Apple, Canonical, and Red Hat." So, this time around they admit the Apple threat, but it looks like we'll have to wait a couple more years until they announce that they're threatened by the Google Chrome OS - because it's a little bit too early to call that now.
