RIM has just patented what you see above. It's basically a BlackBerry Pearl with a
possibly rotating touchscreen display. Rotating displays
may look good on paper, but doesn't really work out in real life.
Cell Passion suggests an
HTC Touch Pro 2-like design for a future BlackBerry. If RIM really wants to explore, I think they should definitely try it out!
