Hitachi Announces 11 New HDTVs in the Wooo Series
Yes, they did. 11 Hitachi HDTV announcements in one day. First up is the Wooo UT800 Series. There are 4 variations in this LCD series including 32, 37, 42, and 47-inch models and they are all just 1.4-inches thick. They all have 120Hz technology, 500 nits of brightness, have an SDHC and iVDR slot, a 250GB HDD to record HD television, and also has Ethernet. These are expected to launch in Japan this October in the $2,499 to $4,300 USD price range.
The Wooo 03 Series was also announced today; they are made up of 4 plasma TVs and 3 LCD TVs. The smallest plasma will be 42-inches with just a 1,024 x 768 resolution and the largest one will be 50-inches with a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution. The plasmas have a 40,000:1 contrast ratio except for the 42-inch plasma which has a 30,000:1 instead - oh yes, they all save energy too. The three LCD TVs range from the 32-inch model that has a 1,366 x 768 resolution to the 42-inch model that has a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution. The 7 HDTVs in the Wooo 03 Series have an SDHC and iVDR slot, and also a 250GB HDD. These HDTVs will have a range in price from $2,000 to $3,200 USD - the LCDs will ship later this month and the plasmas are expected to be available this May.
