9-Inch Amazon Android Tablet Could Launch This October, Without a Camera

Labels: , , ,

The WSJ has just confirmed the rumours of an Amazon Android tablet launching this year. The tablet is said to be the first of a "family" of products from the company. The first one is a tablet that's expected to launch before the end of October with a roughly 9-inch display (possibly 8.9).

Sadly, the WSJ is reporting that this tablet won't have a camera so you won't be able to video chat on this one. That could be because they're planning to get their foot in the door with the first tablet which could be pegged with a cheap price tag. Rumoured specs for this one are a TI OMAP4 CPU so we'll see what happens in a few months.

Sony VAIO Z Up For Pre-Order In the US, Starts At $2,000

Labels: , , ,

If you live in the US and have a lot of cash on hand for a new notebook then you might want to check out the VAIO Z from Sony. The notebook is now available for pre-order and it starts at a whopping $2,000, definitely a premium price tag. The notebook is no slouch though.

It's just 2.5 pounds and packs a 13-inch display with a hefty spec sheet. How they crammed so much power into its body is beyond me. Inside you'll find integrated Intel graphics, a Core i5 / i7 CPU, up to 8GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD, a carbon fiber body, and a then battery which should last up to 8 hours. The external Power Media Dock will even give you AMD Radeon HD 6650M graphics, HDMI / VGA outputs, Lightpeak (aka Thunderbolt), three more USB ports, and even a slot-loading optical drive.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Duo Superphone Specs Leak; XPERIA Pro Delayed Until September

Labels: , , , , , ,

There are new details about two upcoming Sony Ericsson Android smartphones. The first one is above which is the XPERIA Duo. This one is said to feature a 1.4GHz dual-core CPU, 1.5GB of RAM, a 4.5-inch qHD display, a 12MP camera, a front-facing camera, and Android 2.3. This one is definitely not a slacker and it's actually one of the best smartphones that have been announced thus far - even topping the Galaxy S II and the HTC Sensation. This one's reportedly on pace for September so you might want to wait around for it.

That's not all though. Remember the XPERIA Pro that was announced a few weeks ago? Well, the handset is said to be hitting the UK in late September. According to the company it should be priced at £349.99 unlocked which is about $558 USD. It's a bit delayed and it's a bit expensive as well.
