Dell XPS 15z Notebook Now Official, Product Page Goes Live!

Labels: , ,

Looks like you won't have to wait until tomorrow to see Dell's new XPS 15z notebook. The notebook has just been made official and it's sports a 0.97-inch thin body as well as weighing 5.54 pounds. Compare that to the MacBook Pro which is 0.95-inches thin and weighs 5.6 pounds. It's pretty clear that Dell came pretty close to mimicking that notebook but failed a bit short. However, that doesn't matter at all.

The new notebook from Dell sports Core i5 / i7 CPU options, Nvidia GeForce GT 525M graphics, up to a Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) display, up to 8GB of RAM, two USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI, an optical drive, a mini DisplayPort, Ethernet, and supports Intel's WiFi 2.0 and Nvidia's 3DPlay. The notebook itself sports an aluminum / magnesium alloy body which looks fairly sturdy. The chiclet keyboard also looks like it'll be pretty fun to type on.

Tomorrow you'll be able to get your hands on this one and it'll start at $999. Of course, you'll want to spend a bit more if you want the Full HD display which I suggest you pick up!

Update: Check it out on Dell if you want to buy one! Remember, it starts at $999.

Asus Teasing Photos Of Their Upcoming Tablet, Or Phone

Labels: , ,

Although what you likely see above is a tablet from Asus it could be a large smartphone. Of course, I still think it's the former but you never know because pictures are deceiving. Either way, Asus is teasing this to us and it may be getting official at Computex which kicks off in just a few weeks. Specs, obviously, are still unknown right now but don't be surprised if they leak before it gets official.

Coming from Digitimes is word that Apple could be planning to make a "curved cover glass" for the next iPhone. It's unknown exactly what they're talking about right now but maybe it'll be something similar to the Contour Display found on the Google Nexus S that Samsung made. Apparently, Apple has bought 200 - 300 glass cutting machines to use for it. We'll just have to wait and see what Apple has in store for us.

9 New Windows Phones To Get Official Tuesday May 24th?

Labels: , , , , ,

Remember Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 launch? Well, according to what WMPowerUser is hearing the WP 7.5 "Mango" update could be just as big. Apparently, on May 24th, the company could be making up to 9 phones official: 2 from HTC, 2 from Acer, 1 from Dell, and 4 from Samsung. Obviously, this is a long time coming since we haven't seen a new Windows Phone in a long time.

The Dell smartphone is said to be the Dell "Wrigley" (possibly a Venue Pro 2), while one of the Samsung phones could be similar to the Galaxy S II which would be a great look for them. Look our for them tomorrow and we'll see if what they're hearing is correct.
