Lenovo Said To Be Working On a 23-Inch Tablet For This Year

Labels: ,

Tech Radar is reporting something quite big from Lenovo. Apparently, the company's senior specialist in marketing, William Cai, has mentioned that they're working on a gigantic 23-inch tablet that should hit the market before the end of this year. Obviously, you shouldn't be strolling the street with a 23-inch tablet so this one will reportedly be used for various rooms in your house. You'll be able to share this tablet with your family and you'll be able to use it for basically whatever you want: games, browsing, watching TV. The OS is unknown right now but I'm going to guess that it'll be Windows.

AT&T Releasing the LG Thrive and Phoenix On April 17th, Their Optimus One Models

Labels: , , , ,

AT&T looks like they're less than a week away from offering their own variant of the LG Optimus One. They'll be available on April 17th and it's the LG Thrive and the Phoenix. The Thrive will be their pre-paid handset at $179.99, while the Phoenix is the exact same handset except that it's darker and will cost you $49.99 on a 2-year contract. Not exactly the best news of the day, but it could be great for a teen.

Toshiba Outs Portege R830 and R835 Notebooks, Thinner and Lighter

Labels: , ,

Toshiba has just released their latest Portege notebooks and there's the R830 along with the R835 models. Inside you'll find Intel Core i3 / i5 CPU options, a 640GB HDD, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, and Windows 7. Of course, that's not the best part about these notebooks. Toshiba has made these laptops even thinner and lighter than ever before. They now weigh just 3.1 pounds and it's just under an inch thick which is pretty impressive since it still packs quite a bit of horsepower. You can pick these up right now starting at $890 and $1,050, respectively.

Nokia Announces Symbian Anna Update; Also E6 and X7 Handsets

Labels: , , ,

Today isn't just HTC's day, Nokia announced two new handsets today as well as Symbian "Anna" which is an update for the N8, E7, C7, and C6-01 and will be the first of a few more updates to the outdated OS. In brief, the Anna update will have new icons, a better browser, a new version of Ovi Maps, a portrait QWERTY keyboard, and "real" homescreen scrolling. Let's get back to the devices, shall we?

First up we'll talk about the Nokia E6 which is above. It's a portrait QWERTY keyboard packing handset and it's, obviously, their best one so far. It packs a 2.46-inch VGA (640 x 480 resolution) touchscreen display (326ppi), an 8MP camera with a dual-LED flash and 720p HD video recording, 8GB of storage, a microSD card slot, GPS, WiFi b/g/n support, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 1,500mAh battery, and Symbian Anna. This one will be available in Q2 in black, silver, and white. I'd still rather wait for a Bold Touch but the choice is yours.

Next up is below and it's the Nokia X7 which has leaked many times before. This one packs a 4-inch AMOLED display, an 8MP camera with a dual-LED flash and 720p HD video recording, a microSD card slot, 1GB of ROM, Bluetooth 3.0 / WiFi b/g/n support, a 680MHz CPU, and Symbian Anna. This will also be available in Q2 for €380 ($547 USD) unlocked. They're both pretty interesting handsets, but I'm still waiting on their first Windows Phone 7 one.

Alienware M14x and M18x Leak Early, Thanks To Dell Canada

Labels: , , , , ,

Thanks to Dell Canada's website, the Alienware M14x and M18x were leaked this morning. The page has been pulled since then but the launch could be fairly soon. Specs are right on par with what we've heard countless times. The larger model features an Intel Core i7 2.8GHz CPU, 4GB of DDR3 RAM (up to 8GB), a 320GB HDD (up to 750GB), and a GeForce GTX 460M GPU or dual AMD Radeon HD 6970M graphics if you're interested. Specs for the M14x should be just about the same as its big brother but don't expect dual GPUs because there won't be enough room for it.

7-Inch HTC Flyer Hitting Europe On May 9th

Labels: , , , , , , ,

The title really says it all. In February, we heard that HTC planned to release their 7-inch Flyer tablet globally sometime in Q2 and at their event today they announced that Europe will be getting it on May 9th. Not much left to tell you but before you pick one up you should remember that HTC has "Honeycomb" tablets in the works. Just saying.

HTC Sensation Officially Announced; Packs 4.3-Inch qHD, Dual-Core 1.2GHz, and Gingerbread With Sense 3.0

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , ,

HTC has made their new flagship phone official today and I was totally wrong about this being a Nexus device. The "Pyramid" has been officially announced as the HTC Sensation and after Vodafone and Qualcomm gave us hints as to what the smartphone would offer we now know everything. The Sensation packs a 4.3-inch qHD (960 x 540 resolution) Gorilla Glass (Super LCD) display, a dual-core Qualcomm MSM 8260 1.2GHz CPU, 1GB of internal storage, an 8MP AF camera with a dual-LED flash and 1080p Full HD video recording, a front-facing camera, a microSD card slot (8GB in the box), 768MB of ROM, an aluminum unibody, a 3.5mm headphone jack, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth 3.0 support, DLNA, a 1,520mAh battery, an HDMI output, and Android 2.3 "Gingerbread" with the Sense 3.0 UI.

Yeah, that's quite the spec sheet and it's sounding like one of the best smartphones on the market right now. This smartphone will be hitting the UK, Germany, and other European markets in mid-May and, of course, Vodafone will be getting a short exclusive for the device. The company also announced the 4G model which will have HSPA+ and will hit T-Mobile USA later this Summer. If you're interested then there's a promo video below.
