New Verizon Rumours Include Motorola DROID 3, DROID X2, Samsung Stealth, and HTC DROID Incredible 2

Labels: , , , , , , , , , ,

If you believe what Phandroid has to say then Verizon will have four upcoming Android phones on the way and most of them are coming before the first half of this year closes. The first few devices are said to be the Motorola DROID 3, the DROID X2, and the Samsung Stealth which we actually saw unveiled at CES earlier this year. The DROID 3 is said to be sporting a 4-inch display with a QHD (960 x 540) resolution along with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, while there's nothing known about the DROID X2. Maybe we'll see all of these unveiled at MWC because they're scheduled for Q2 of this year.

The second rumour is that the HTC DROID Incredible 2 - codenamed "Vevo" - is right around the corner as well. In case you forgot, the DROID Incredible was one of the best Android phones to hit the US market last year so the successor should be even better. Rumoured specs for this one include a Qualcomm chip that will provide Global 3G support. Apparently, this time around it'll be "white with a white chrome rim and contoured black". Unfortunately, there's no picture of this one right now so you can let your imagination soar!

Coming from the WSJ is word on the next iPad from Apple. Apparently, it's in production right now with a front-facing camera (for FaceTime), a lighter / thinner body, more powerful internal components, and a display that sports the same 1,024 x 768 resolution. Of course, this should include things like a faster CPU, a better GPU, and more RAM. The release date is still unknown but it should be quite soon. This one's headed to both AT&T and Verizon in the US.

Best Buy Taking Pre-Orders For the HTC Thunderbolt, Possibly Delayed Though

Labels: , , , , , , ,

If you've been waiting for the Android-based HTC Thunderbolt then the wait just might be over soon. Best Buy across the US is reportedly taking pre-orders for this smartphone right now so you might want to head over to one of their stores. The phone is nowhere to be found on their website so you're definitely going to have to get out of your chair if you want to get one.

Update: This morning BGR scooped the photo you see above and it says that Amazon could be delivering the handset by February 14th. Unfortunately, that date has been pulled so there's no telling when it'll actually be available.

Update: A number of websites have been reporting that this smartphone might actually be delayed by Verizon. That's unconfirmed right now so maybe we'll hear an official word from the carrier in the near future.

Huawei has just teased two devices that they'll be officially unveiling at MWC on their Flickr account. It's above and below and it's the IDEOS X3 and S7, respectively. The number probably signifies how large the screen is - in inches - so you have a 3-inch handset above and a 7-inch tablet below; both of them are running Google's Android OS but the version is still unknown. Specs are unknown right now but we'll know everything in about a week.

At Dell's "business" event they unveiled what you see above. The company is gearing up to release a 10-inch Windows 7 powered tablet later this year. Specs are unknown right now, but I can't picture them releasing a tablet like this without their Stage UI which is also found on their Inspiron duo hybrid tablet / netbook. This tablet will likely sport their new "overwhelmingly simple" Clarity UI. Price is still unknown right now but Dell really hasn't made a good tablet up to this point.
