Lenovo Announces the U300s Ultrabook, IdeaPad U300 and U400 On the Way Too

Labels: ,

Lenovo has unveiled a bunch of new notebooks today and we're starting things off with the U300s which is their upcoming ultrabook. The U300s will feature a 14.9mm thin body and definitely takes design cues from Apple's MacBook Air with a glass trackpad and an aluminum body. Sadly, the keyboard isn't backlit but it is spill-resistant. The company has also announced the IdeaPad U300 (13.3-inch) and U400 (14-inch) notebooks so don't forget them.

The three notebooks share a 1,366 x 768 resolution display, WiDi, HDMI / USB 3.0 ports, and up to a 256GB SSD with up to 1TB of HDD storage on the U300 and U400. The U300s has up to 4GB of RAM, while the other two have up to 8GB of space in there. The smaller two models are stuck with integrated graphics, while the U300 steps it up with an AMD Radeon HD5470M GPU. They're all packing Core i5 / i7 CPU options which is great. They'll be hitting the market next month - October - and the base models will cost you $1,195 (U300s), $799 (U300), and $849 (U400).
