BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930, Torch 9810/9850/9860 Get Official; Curve 9360 Leaks

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Finally, RIM has come clean and has announced the BlackBerry Torch 9810, the Torch 9850 / 9860, and the Bold 9900 / 9930. All of these smartphones pack a 1.2GHz CPU, 768MB of RAM, and OS 7.0. The new OS is reportedly 40% faster at browsing and also supports Liquid Graphics tech which uses a dedicated GPU for a smoother experience.

At this point, you should already know all about the Torch 9810 which was made official earlier this morning on AT&T's website and the Bold 9900 / 9930 which was made official a few months ago. The Torch 9850 / 9860 is the newest of the bunch. This one packs a 3.7-inch touchscreen display and aims to be much better than the Storm line-up ever was. With the new OS 7.0, this Torch could take some of the smartphone market - unless you're into that dual-core CPU hype.

Mobile Syrup has mentioned that Virgin Mobile will be releasing the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and the Torch 9810 in Canada. Another Engadget post has mentioned that the BlackBerry Torch 9850 and the Bold 9930 are headed to Sprint and the Torch 9850 is also headed to US Cellular. Slash Gear has also posted a new photo of the upcoming Curve 9360 which wasn't officially announced today. This one should actually be announced soon though because it's expected to hit Canada before the end of the month. The full spec sheet for this one is unknown right now but it does have OS 7.0 along with an optical trackpad, 3G, a QWERTY keyboard, and a microUSB port.
