Over a year late, it looks like the Motorola Milestone (A854) will be hitting MTS in Canada. Labels: , , , , , ,

Samsung has finally released their 14.1-inch QX410 through Best Buy in North America. This notebook is definitely worth the price if you can put up with the 1,366 x 768 resolution (I honestly can't stand anything lower than 1,600 x 900 anymore). Specs include an Intel Core i5 2.53GHz CPU, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 640GB HDD, a dual-layer DVD burner, an SDXC card slot, Nvidia GeForce 310M GPU, Optimus technology, WiFi b/g/n support, three USB 2.0 ports, a 7-hour battery life, and an integrated webcam. If you're willing to wait a little bit, there'll be a 4G-capable WiMAX model hitting Sprint USA. Check it out on Best Buy USA for $829 and even Best Buy Canada for $899.

BlackBerry Storm 3's Rumoured Spec Sheet Leaks, Seems Too Good To Be True

Labels: , , ,

Coming from BB Leaks is the rumoured spec sheet for the BlackBerry Storm 3 which will likely be hitting the market in 2011. RIM isn't exactly the best company in the world when it comes to keeping up with the specs of the current times, but with the Storm 3 they could be doing just that. Rumoured specs for the Storm 3 include a 3.7-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display, a 5MP / 8MP camera with fixed focus and a dual-LED flash, 8GB / 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, 512MB / 1GB of RAM, 1GB of ROM, an optical trackpad, Bluetooth 3.0 / WiFi support, a 1,200mAh battery, GPS, Class 32 GPRS, and an OS developed by QNX.

Yes, you should be taking these specs with a grain of salt, but it's coming from multiple BB Leaks sources - even they're taking them as rumours. Apparently, the Storm 3 could also be RIM's first 4G BlackBerry, but who really knows at this point

Red BlackBerry Bold 9780 Spotted In the Wild and On Video

Labels: , ,

At this point we know that AT&T will be getting a [slightly] red BlackBerry Torch on November 7th. It looks like a real red BB has been spotted in the wild and in the video below. This time it's the upcoming Bold 9780, which features a few upgrades over the Bold 9700. All that you need to know is that it'll have OS 6.0 with the WebKit browser which is the most important part. The big question is: which carrier will launch this colour?

AT&T Announces the Eco-Friendly Samsung Evergreen, Sprint Releases the Samsung M360 Flip Phone

Labels: , , , , ,

Two new handsets from Samsung have just been announced and they're basic phones so they're not running Android. The first one is above and it's headed to AT&T. It's the eco-friendly Samsung Evergreen (a667) and it sports a 2.4-inch display, Stereo Bluetooth, a 2MP camera, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 3G, and AT&T Navigator. The handset itself is made of 70% recycled plastics while the box is made of 80% recycled paper. This will be available on November 7th for $29.99 on a 2-year contract after a $50 mail-in rebate.

The other handset is below and it's the Samsung M360. This flip phone is actually available right now (here) for free on a 2-year contract or for $209.99 contract-free. This features a QVGA internal display, an external display witha  128 x 128 resolution, a 1.3MP camera, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

ViewSonic Makes Their ViewPad 7 and Dual-Booting ViewPad 10 Tablets Official

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Today's turning out to be quite the day for tablets. The Galaxy Tab is now available in the UK but that won't stop ViewSonic from unveiling their own two tablets: the ViewPad 7 and the ViewPad 10. As you might have known, they're sporting 7 and 10-inch touchscreen displays, respectively. The 7-inch model sports a Snapdragon CPU, a 3MP camera on the back, a front-facing VGA camera, 512MB of ROM, 3G connectivity, and Android 2.2. ViewSonic has mentioned that this will have access to the Android Market so let's hope that they're not lying to us. This will be hitting the shelves later this month (November) with an MSRP of $479 which is a bit expensive, but at least you get the App Market, right?

The other tablet is the 10-inch variant which is actually a bit different. The ViewPad 10 is the tablet that will be dual-booting Windows 7 and, unfortunately, just Android 1.6. To make things even worse, this will be available in Q1 2011, which would mean that it would be way behind in Android versions - you can expect two [more] major versions by then. Inside you'll find a 1.66GHz Atom CPU, a 16GB SSD, 1GB of RAM, and Windows 7 Home Premium. You'll be able to get one for $629 if you really want to pick one up. I think it'll be too late by then.

Chatr To Get the Nokia C3 For $100 (Contract-Free) With a Free Bluetooth Headset

Labels: , , ,

The rumour has turned out to be true. Mobile Syrup has just picked up the information you see above and it states that Chatr will be getting the Nokia C3 and they'll be willing to give you one for $100 contract-free. This is definitely a good deal since this is their best handset to date and it even has WiFi! If you decide to get one you'll also be getting a Bluetooth headset with your purchase so the deal becomes even sweeter.

7-Inch ZTE AD8000 Android Tablet Hits the FCC, Stuck In the Past With Resistive Display

Labels: , , , ,

Something that you might be interested in just hit the FCC and it's coming from ZTE. It's a 7-inch tablet (with a 800 x 480 resolution and a resistive touchscreen display), and it's being dubbed the AD8000 at this point. This tablet should hit the market with a cheap price tag considering the spec sheet. It packs an underwhelming 600MHz CPU, a microSDHC card slot, WiFi b/g support, and a 10-hour battery life. At least you get Android 2.2 but there's no word on if there's access to the Android Market. The CPU will definitely hinder how fast you'll be able to browse the web on this tablet. If you're bored, check it out at the FCC.

Sprint To Start Taking Pre-Orders For the HTC 7 Pro On December 8th?

Labels: , , , , ,

There's a new rumour going around regarding when Sprint will be putting up their pre-orders for the WP7-based HTC 7 Pro. According to the tweet you see above - which you're actually not allowed to do at this point - Sprint will be taking pre-orders starting on Wednesday, December 8th. Price is unknown right now, but I'd be surprised if it's not $199.99 on a 2-year contract.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Available In the UK For As Little As £99

Labels: , , , , , ,

If you live in the UK then you can now pick up the Samsung Galaxy Tab if you want to. The 7-inch tablet is now available for as little as £99.99 but you'll have to cough up £40 monthly for 5GB of data and you'll be stuck for 2 years. The contract-free price is £529.99 so maybe you'll want to think about that option too. Check it out at Carphone Warehouse.

Nexus Two From Samsung Is "Simply Not True", Says Samsung

Labels: , , , , ,

Apparently, Samsung has denied the rumours about the Nexus Two since they said that they are "simply not true." I'm still hoping they have something up their sleeve for their November 8th event. Of course, you can still expect the Verizon-bound Samsung Continuum at their event. I'm still hoping that a Nexus device is in the works from Samsung with the rumoured specs that'll set the baseline for the rest of the superphones.
