Toshiba TG03 (Or TG02) Gets Spotted In Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 Labs

Labels: , , , ,

We've heard about the Toshiba TG03 before but we've never seen it - until now. The photo above was taken in Microsoft's own Windows Phone 7 labs and it's definitely the Toshiba TG03 (or TG02), which is looking a lot like the TG01. WMPowerUser points out that it could be the TG02, but I actually think it's the TG03 since the TG03 did get GCF certification in late September. Anyways, it should get cleared up soon.

Rogers Launching the Dell Streak and the SE Vivaz Pro In Early November -- Training Guide For the Streak Leaks

Labels: , , , , , , , , , ,

Rogers may be launching the Samsung Captivate next week but the Android party isn't over. According to the image you see above, the carrier will also be launching the Dell Streak MID in early November. This MID is already available on AT&T in the US so it's good to see that Canada will be getting it as well. Unfortunately, it's unknown what version of Android it'll have but it could be version 1.6, which would kind of suck

Yes, the image also confirms that Rogers will be getting the Vivaz Pro from Sony Ericsson.

Update: According to a newer Mobile Syrup post, the Dell Streak's training guide has just been leaked. The training guide confirms that it'll launch with Android 1.6 but there'll be an OTA update to version 2.2 later this year, which is a bit before the Captivate gets their Froyo update which is scheduled for early 2011. Of course, you can always root either device and put Froyo on it yourself. Check out the link above for a few more photos.

RIM Still Working On a Couple of New Storm Smartphones, PlayBook 2 In H2 2011?

Labels: , , , , ,

According to Into Mobile, RIM has / had a couple of touchscreen smartphones in the works. Sadly, this is coming from an analysts' perspective so we'll have to wait and see if this actually turns out to be true. These smartphones are said to be three iterations of the Storm 3. One of them (like we heard before) was sporting haptic touch but that has been cancelled, the other one is said to be a non-haptic model which has more memory, BB OS 6.0, and a similar thickness to the Storm 2. Apparently, and more impressively, RIM is supposedly working on another Storm 3 model which has an "iPhone-like form factor, but slimmer" body and this could be running on software developed by QNX.

Into the tablet business, another PlayBook model (the PlayBook 2) could be available in the second half of 2011, which is quite interesting as well. Last, but not least, the analyst mentions that BlackBerry App World will somehow be integrated into the new QNX OS which should be on the Storm 3 and the PlayBook tablets.

Apparently, the photo above is a photo of the Motorola Olympus (MB860) smartphone running on Android 3.0 "Gingerbread". Of course, even they point out that something like this could easily be faked so take this all with a grain of salt. Furthermore, the photo below is said to be the stock version of Android 3.0.
