Verizon and Google Also Teaming Up For 3G-Equipped Chrome OS Devices?

Labels: , , , , ,

It wouldn't exactly be the most surprising news out there - seeing how Google and Verizon always seem to be getting along lately (DROID line-up and the whole net neutrality fiasco) - but some Chrome OS devices could be hitting Verizon Wireless sometime in the future. The shots below also mention that said devices will have integrated 3G support which isn't surprising at all. Let's hope we see these devices before the end of the year.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Headed To Vodafone UK? Sporting WVGA Resolution, a 3.2MP Camera, and 1GHz CPU?

Labels: , , , , , ,

There's a rumour going around that Vodafone UK will be getting the Samsung Galaxy Tab in the near future. Everyone's expecting it to be announced in early September (at IFA) and it could be released pretty soon after that. The Galaxy Tab could also have some 3G functionality as well which should actually be a standard by now. Anyways, let's see if this will happen.

Update: According to another Engadget post, the Galaxy Tab's (P1000) firmware leaked out and it's pointing to a 1GHz (S5PC110) Hummingbird CPU. This is the exact same CPU you'll find in the Galaxy S and is also pretty similar to what you'll find in the iPad. The website (Samsung Firmware) also mentions that the Galaxy Tab will sport a mere 480 x 800 resolution, a 3.2MP rear-facing camera, and a front-facing camera. Of course, these are unconfirmed right now and let's hope they're a bit wrong.

Lumigon Redesigns Their Froyo-Based Smartphone, Wastes a Bunch Of Space As Well

Labels: , , , ,

Way back in February we first about a company, Lumigon, and they would be ramping up a few Android-based smartphones for the market. Well, they've gone through some changes since the last time we saw them. They still a bit elegant but this new model has a lot of wasted screen estate. The render (above) was posted on their Facebook page and shows off a d-pad, four hard buttons, a logo, a possible front-facing camera, and a microSD card slot. Like I said, the screen could be better but the OS should be Google's Android 2.2 "Froyo" so it's not all bad.
