T-Mobile's "Project Emerald" To Bring the HTC Desire To the USA, Possibly Canada Too?

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

Apparently, T-Mobile is working on some secret project, dubbed Project Emerald. This is a plan to bring the HTC Desire to the USA, which is sounding like great news - even though they do already have the Nexus One. If this is true then it could be hitting Canada as well, seeing how their carrier, Telus, will be getting the HTC Triumph which is said to be a variant of the Desire.

Three New Acer Aspire One Notebooks Spotted In France With AMD CPUs

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

A couple of new notebooks have just been spotted at an AMD event in France. What you see above is the Acer Aspire One 521 which leaked out a couple of weeks ago. The event also features the Aspire One 721 (below), which hit the FCC a couple of months ago, and the Aspire One 1551. The AO521 features a 10.1-inch display with a 1,024 x 600 resolution, DDR3 RAM, an AMD V105 single-core 1.2GHz CPU, ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics, a multicard reader, three USB ports, audio / Ethernet jacks, and VGA / HDMI outputs.

Next up is the AO721 which is above. This features an 11.6-inch display with a 1,366 x 768 resolution, a dual-core AMD Athlon Neo K325 CPU, three USB ports, Bluetooth / Ethernet, a 5,600mAh battery, and optional 3G.

The other notebook that was spotted is the AO1551. This one looks extremely similar to the AO721, so it'll be hard to distinguish the two apart from one another. This notebook features a 11.6-inch display with a 1,366 x 768 resolution, an AMD Turion II Neo dual-core K325 / K625 CPU, ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics, an HDMI output, WiFi / Bluetooth / 3G support, and Windows 7 Home Premium.

Sprint Employees Start Their Training For the HTC EVO 4G

Labels: , , , , , , , , , ,

Sprint employees have just started undergoing their HTC EVO 4G training and apparently it has just revealed a bit of secrets. Secrets include Sprint Navigation, Google Navigation, an FM radio, and WEP / WPA encryption. If you do happen to buy the phone on Sprint's 4G network you'll, of course, need "special plans" which probably means you'll have to spend more money to use the speedy new network.

T-Mobile Releasing the Android-Based Garminfone In June For $199

Labels: , , , , ,

We already know that T-Mobile is set to launch the Garminfone in the Spring time. Apparently, it's looking like Spring time will be sometime next month (June). As you can see in the photo above it's running a custom Garmin UI over top of Android. It'll be available for $199 on a 2-year contract, which is overpriced. Engadget got their hands-on with this handset so if you want you can check out the link below.

The 14-inch L412 and the 15.6-inch L512 notebooks seem to now be available for $599. Both notebooks thankfully sport an Intel Core i3-330 2.13GHz CPU along with 2GB of RAM. Sadly, those only sport integrated Intel graphics. Check it out on Lenovo's website here.

Of course, this means that they're planning to make an Android tablet that'll run on Verizon's network. Labels: , , , , ,

Cellular South just showed off a unique way to announce their latest handset. They have unofficially announced that they'll be launching the Motorola Milestone. As you can see in the Facebook message below, the first letter of every line spells out "MILESTONE." This is good pick up for them, so look out for it in the future.

Dell Releases Two Latitude Laptops, the 2110 Netbook For $389 and the E4310 Notebook For $1,129

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

Dell has just released two more laptops. The first one is what you see above, the Latitude 2110 netbook and you can check it out on Dell's site (here). The netbook itself features a 10.1-inch LED-backlit display with a 1,024 x 600 resolution, an Intel Atom N470 1.83GHz CPU, Intel GMA 3150 graphics, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, and a 16GB SSD / 160GB HDD. There are a bunch of OS options including: Windows XP / Vista / 7, Linux, and FreeDOS. Dell has priced the netbook at $389 for the Linux model and $419 for the Windows XP model. The $489 model throws in a 2.0MP webcam.

Dell has just officially unveiled the Latitude E4310 notebook and we've seen this one before. This notebook packs a 13.3-inch LED-backlit display with a 1,366 x 768 resolution, Intel Core i5-520M 2.4GHz / Core i5-540M 2.53GHz CPU options, up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM, integrated Intel graphics, up to a 500GB HDD / 256GB SSD, a DVD writer, optional Blu-ray, one USB port, one eSATA / USB port, a multicard reader, VGA output, and optional 3G. It's clearly lacking discrete graphics options and USB ports which is a huge let down. Of course, it also doesn't have an HDMI port, but that's expected since it only has integrated graphics. I don't think it's worth the price, but I guess it's perfect for a business user. Check it out on Dell's website here.

GameStop Canada Prices the PlayStation Move At $59.99

Labels: , , , ,

Thanks to GameStop (the link has been pulled), we now know the price of PlayStation Move in Canada. Apparently, it'll be priced at $59.99 and it'll launch on September 1st - before Xbox 360's Project Natal. Of course, that's subject to change so don't be surprised if they flip the script on you there. That's looking like it'll be the MSRP though so it's good that it's the same price in Canada and the US. Our Canadian dollar is catching up!

Acer Liquid E In Canada's Rogers' Inventory Shows $79.99 Contract Price

Labels: , , , , ,

Another one of Mobile Syrup's tipsters have just snagged a picture of the Acer Liquid E in Canada's Rogers inventory. Last week we heard that Rogers will be launching the handset for $49.99 on a 3-year contract and today's screenshot shows that it'll be available for $79.99. Let's hope that Rogers decides to go with the cheaper $49.99 price tag, but it'll definitely be below $100. The contract-free $375 price tag seems to be set in stone though.

BlackBerry Storm 3 To Hit the Market In H2 With "Perfect" SurePress Touchscreen and OS 6, Storm 4 In 2011

Labels: , , , , , ,

It shouldn't be a surprise that RIM is reportedly working on a new Storm Series handset. Apparently, in the latter half of this year we should expect the BlackBerry Storm 3 to launch and it'll feature a "perfect" SurePress touchscreen system along with their new BlackBerry OS 6.0 with their WebKit browser. They're going to try to focus on gaming with this handset, which I believe will be a challenge to them.

More rumours are stating the BlackBerry Storm 4 will be launching in 2011 and it'll focus on aspects like augmented reality, a magnetometer, a better GPS, and a 5MP camera.

Canada's Telus To Launch the Garmin-Asus Nuvifone G60 This June?

Labels: , , , , ,

Telus is said to be getting a new phone in the next couple of weeks. It's said to be the Garmin Nuvifone and it's said to be packing a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, a 3MP AF camera with geotagging, WiFi support, a microSD card slot, and a non-standard 2.5mm headphone. It's looking like this will be the Nuvifone G60 which is the phone that's infamously known for being delayed a whole lot. Telus honestly could've chose a better phone than this one, but I guess they didn't. It's expected in the first week of June.

Motorola (XT720) MOTOROI To Hit the UK With Faster Processor

Labels: , , , ,

It looks Motorola themselves have confirmed that the (XT720) MOTOROI will be hitting people in the UK sometime in the future. This handset will have a 3.7-inch WVGA touchscreen display, an 8MP camera with a Xenon flash and 720p video recording, an HDMI port, and Android 2.1. Apparently, this model will be slightly better than the XT701 that hit Taiwan. The CPU is said to be supercharged, so it'll be faster than the TI OMAP 600MHz CPU. Maybe it'll be getting a 1GHz CPU of some sort, maybe the Samsung or the Snapdragon. We don't know which carriers will get it so we'll just have to wait and see.

Nokia 6702 Slide and Candybar 1706 Handsets Set To Hit the Chinese Market

Labels: , , ,

Nokia is set to launch two handsets on the Chinese market, the 6702 Slide (above) and the basic candybar handset you see below, the 1706. The 6702 Slide is the better of the two since it has a 2.6-inch display with a 240 x 320 resolution, a 5MP camera with a Carl Zeiss lens and a dual-LED flash, and Bluetooth support.

We don't know much about the Nokia 1706 but I doubt that the specs are better than the 6702 Slide. It should have basic features seeing how it is a candybar phone. We don't know the specs right now so we'll have to wait a bit. The price and release dates for both of these phones are still TBA.

ZTE Looking To Make Some Windows Phone 7 Handsets

Labels: , ,

This should come as no surprise. ZTE has just mentioned that they'll indeed be working on a Windows Phone 7 handset for the future. Of course, we don't know when this handset will be hitting the market but with Microsoft's minimal guidelines in effect it shouldn't be lacking a good spec sheet. ZTE is planning to make a big push over the next couple of years since they're going to try to be the third largest phone maker by 2015. I don't think they'll be able to do it, but anything's possible.

Samsung Unveils Two Projectors (H03 and SP-F10M) and Two Monitors (PX2370 and MD230)

Labels: , , ,

Samsung has unveiled a couple more products. First up is their new SyncMaster PX2370 LCD monitor, which is what you see above. This monitor has a 23-inch LED-backlit display and it, of course, has a Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) resolution. It also has a 2ms response time, the Touch of Color design, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio (5,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio), an Ambient Light sensor, and VGA / DVI / HDMI inputs. Another product that they officially announced is what they're claiming to be the "world's brightest pico projector." It's the Samsung H03 and it has 30 ANSI lumens along with an SD card slot. This is set to launch in June and it'll weigh less than a smartphone.

They've also briefly announced the SP-F10M LED-based projector which has 1,000 ANSI lumens. Other specs are said to be an XGA (1,024 x 768) resoltuion, an HDMI input, a 40 to 300 inch image size, and 30,000 hours of lamp life. Verizon Rumoured To Be Working On an Ad Campaign For the iPhone HD

Labels: , , , , ,

Although Apple signed a 5-year exclusive deal with AT&T for the iPhone that should last until 2012, there's a new rumour going around that Verizon is working on some sort of ad campaign for the iPhone HD. This is weird and could be hinting at the fact that Verizon will get their iPhone this year - if it's true. Sadly, I don't see how this is possible, but you never know. Just though I'd give you the heads up.

MSI Working On Two Tablets; Slatebook Expected At Computex, M Pad Running Tegra 2 Later This Year

Labels: , , ,

MSI is said to be working on two tablets that they plan to launch this year. The MSI "Slatebook" is said to be showcased at Computex next month and will be running full Windows 7 - so it sounds like bad news. Windows 7 on a tablet doesn't work so well, so I doubt this will be anything that mainstream users would want. This tablet is said to run on Intel's Atom Z Series processors and it'll have a 10-inch display along with WiFi / 3G support. This will reportedly hit the market at under $500.

The other tablet they're said to be working on is being dubbed the M Pad. This is supposedly going to hit the market at under $500 as well and it'll likely be here before the year's end - Q3 rumoured. This is going to be another 10-inch tablet and it should feature the Tegra 250 chipset.

Samsung I8330 To Run LiMo, Rumoured To Be Hitting Vodafone With Hefty Spec Sheet

This phone will be running LiMo and will be launched just in time for the FIFA World Cup. It's said to feature a touchscreen display, a 1GHz CPU, an 8MP camera, GPS / WiFi / Bluetooth support, HSDPA connectivity, and the LiMo R3 OS. Sounds like a good phone to me, but we'll have to see what it looks like first because we don't want a phone that's ugly.

Lenovo Unveils the IdeaCentre A700 With Intel CPUs, B305 With AMD CPUs, and an H320 Desktop

Labels: , , , ,

Lenovo has just updated their all in one PC line-up as well. What you see above is the IdeaCentre B305, but we'll talk about the A700 first. This one will be available with the new Intel Core 2010 CPUs (Core i7-820QM max), a 23-inch Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) resolution, WiFi b/g/n, a side-mounted Blu-ray drive, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, and Windows 7. Of course, this will be available sometime in June with a base price of $999.

The B305 will be sporting AMD CPU options, like the Athlon II X4. This will be better suited for gaming so it has ATI Radeon HD 5450 graphics, up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM, WiFi, a DVD-RW drive, up to a 1TB HDD, and a 21.5-inch display with a Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) resolution. It's pretty impressive for an all in one PC. This will start at $699, which is much cheaper than the B305.

Last, but not least, we have the H320 desktop PC. Inside you'll find up to 8GB of RAM, ATI Radeon HD 5570 graphics, up to a 1TB HDD, Blu-ray, WiFi, and up to a 2.8GHz Intel Core i7-860 CPU. This will have a base price of $549 when it hits the market in June.

Lenovo Updates Their IdeaPad Z and U Series Notebooks, Coming In June For Under $700

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

Lenovo has updated a bunch of their notebooks today and first up is what see above - the IdeaPad Z Series. This notebook comes in 13.3-inch or 15.6-inch models and they have your choice of Intel Core i3 / i5 / i7 / AMD CPUs. In the AMD category, you'll be able to choose from Athlon II / V, Turion II, Phenom II, and the quad-core Phenom II X4 CPUs. They're pretty customizable so you can outfit some discrete graphics in there if that's what you want. The 13.3-inch Z360 and 15.6-inch Z560 notebooks are sporting Intel CPUs, while the 15.6-inch Z565 will have AMD CPUs. They all sport chiclet keyboards and, thankfully, they all have optical drives as well. This will be available in June starting at $649.

Lenovo didn't stop there since they've updated their U Series of notebooks as well. The 11.6-inch U160, 13-inch U360, 14-inch U460, and 15.6-inch U560 notebooks will be available in June with new Intel Core i3 / i5 / i7 CPU options. Even the smallest model can be outfitted with an Intel Core i7-UM CPU so that's pretty impressive. Sadly, the base models will be sporting Pentium / Celeron CPU options and they'll be starting at $699. As you can see, they're definitely about a long battery life so portability is key here. There doesn't appear to be discrete graphics options inside of these so Lenovo isn't catering to the gamer community with these ones.

This would be perfect for an HTPC if that's what you want. This nettop will be available sometime in June for just $249.
