AT&T Palm Pre Plus Gets Unboxed, Still Plagued With Problems

Labels: , , ,

It looks like AT&T could be launching the Palm Pre Plus extremely soon since it has just been unboxed by somebody. Of course, ti'll be exactly the same as the Verizon Pre Plus - except for the different bands it runs on - but it looks like it has AT&T's Address Book backup service built into WebOS's Synergy. The release date still hasn't been mentioned, but the unboxer said that the phone has rebooted on them twice in the first hour of use. Hopefully they'll fix that before they release it...

Motorola XT800 Android Handset To Hit South Korea (via SK Telecom) and the US?

Labels: , , , , , ,

Remember the Motorola XT800? Well, it'll be gracing the land of South Korea via SK Telecom as the Motorola Titanium. The XT800C will reportedly be a 2G CDMA phone, while the XT800W will have UMTS 3G support. Of course, the handset itself features a 480 x 854 resolution touchscreen display, WiFi, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 5MP camera, and Android 2.0.

Apparently, this handset will also hit the US, but that's just a big rumour right now. We'll have to see, but we haven't heard anything about this hitting the US so far.

Intel Delays Their CPUs Intended For Ultra-Thin Notebooks Until Q3

Labels: , ,

According to Digitimes, Intel has delayed some of their CPUs that were meant for ultra-thin notebooks because of the demand that they're going to get. These CPUs are looking like they could be delayed until Q3 of this year. Because of this Acer decided to ditch some of their ultra-thin notebooks and they're going to be focusing on some Calpella-based notebooks instead. Let's just wait and see if this really happens, but this has happened before.

Labels: , , ,

Samsung has just announced their latest all in one PCs, the 20-inch U200, and the 23-inch U250. The PCs both sport 1,600 x 900 resolution (update: only the U200) and Windows 7, but that's all we know. Judging from the resolution, these PCs shouldn't boast an expensive price tag or high-end specs. The prices weren't mentioned, but they'll hit the market in May.

Update: According to Maximum PC, both of these all in one PCs rock multitouch displays. The U200 will feature an Intel Pentium dual-core T440 2.2GHz CPU, 2GB of RAM, and Nvidia GeForce G310M graphics. Labels: , , , ,

Well, well, well, Sharp has just unveiled the world's first 2D / 3D touchscreen display and you won't need 3D glasses to see the 3D effect. "The newly developed 3D LCD uses a parallax barrier system to display 3D image and taking full advantage to advances made in CG-silicon technology, our LCD can achieve both greater image quality and high brightness." The display is 3.4-inches and sports a FWVGA (480 x 854) resolution, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and 500 nits of brightness. This display will begin mass-production in June of this year so we could see them in phones - as well as the Nintendo 3DS that's on the way.

Update: According to Akihabara News, this display is "mind-blowing" and "REALLY impressive." That's what they had to say when they got their eyes on this display.

Canada's Rogers To Get XPERIA X10 On April 15th; Priced At $149.99

Labels: , , , , , ,

We already know that the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 will be hitting Canada via Rogers, but it turned me off when we found out that's not possible for this handset to get multitouch because of the hardware. The good news is that it's expected to launch sometime between April 7th and the 14th and it'll apparently be priced at $149.99 on a 3-year contract and $549.99 contract-free. To be honest, the 3-year contract price just sounds too good to be true and I can't believe that they wouldn't sell it for $199.99. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Update: According to Mobile Syrup, the X10 will really launch for $149.99 which is impressive. As you can see in the image below it looks like it's ready for an April 15th release date.

Three Low End Handsets From Sony Ericsson, Motorola, and ZTE Get Spotted At the Bluetooth SIG

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

A couple of new low-end handsets are set to launch soon since they have just been spotted at the Bluetooth SIG. I'm talking about the Sony Ericsson W100 Spiro (here) , the Motorola i296 Gallo (here), and the ZTE E520 (here). The W100 is going to be a part of their Walkman line-up and it'll feature Bluetooth 2.0. Unfortunately, that's all we know about it. The i296 Gallo is above and it's clearly a low-end handset sporting a traditional candybar form - with Bluetooth. This will be launched by Boost Mobile in the US and could also be called the i294. The ZTE E520 should be available fairly soon on MetroPCS and it should feature Bluetooth along with a camera.

LG KM570 To Be the Cookie Gig or the Cookie Music

Labels: ,

LG looks to be launching the Cookie Gig KM570 aka the Cookie Music. We don't know exactly when LG will make this official so we'll have to wait around for that. The rumoured specs are said to be a 3-inch touchscreen display with a 240 x 400 resolution, a 5MP camera with a flash, 4GB of internal storage (a microSD card), a microSD card slot, Bluetooth support, an FM radio, and likely the S-Class UI. It's part of the Cookie line-up, so I assume that the price tag won't be all that expensive.

Nvidia Tegra 2 Possibly Delayed, Affects Notion Ink, Compal, and ICD Tablets

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Bad news for those of you waiting for a tablet or anything for that matter with Nvidia's Tegra 2 chipset. Apparently, it's being delayed - even though Nvidia says everything is "on track." This is reportedly affecting products from Notion Ink [Adam tablet], Compal [tablet], and even ICD [Ultra tablet]. Compal's product has apparently been pushed to September (from June) and ICD's tablet will be launching in October. The problem is said to be with stability as well as the Flash support.
