Nokia C6 Possibly Pictured, Sporting 5230 Look With QWERTY Keyboard

Labels: ,

The latest rumour has it that what you see above is the Nokia C6. Basically, it looks like a Nokia 5230 with a QWERTY keyboard. The specs weren't mentioned so all we know is that it has a touchscreen display. It's just a rumour right now so take it with a grain of salt. By the way, that's looking like Symbian^3. It does kind of look like the outline of the C6 that passed the FCC a couple of weeks ago.

We already know that Verizon will be getting the Google Nexus One but the real question is when. Well, the bad news is that we still don't know. The latest rumour has it that it may have HTC's Sense UI on it. This would be welcomed, especially if it's running the HTC Desire's UI. Like the T-Mobile Nexus One, the Verizon model will also be sold online only - let's hope they change that.

If you pre-ordered your Plastic Logic QUE proReader then there is some bad news for you. It was set to ship out in April, but the shipments have actually been delayed until some time in the Summer. Of course, they didn't mention exactly when but thankfully you can now spend your hard-earned money on something else - since they didn't charge your credit card. Hopefully you pre-ordered your iPad this morning...

AMD Finally Launching Netbook CPU / GPU Hybrid Next Year

Labels: , ,

Intel is currently dominating the netbook space right now and that's because AMD hasn't released any chips that would be suitable for a netbook. That looks like it will change next year - better late than never. Next year AMD will be launching a Fusion CPU / GPU hybrid chip and it's being codenamed "Ontario" (where I live). This chip will sport their Bobcat core and be part of their Brazos Platform (as you can see in the photo above). It seems like AMD could be too little too late with this chip though since Intel's already packing Nvidia's new Optimus technology into their notebooks and it'll be launching on some netbooks this year as well.

Google Chrome OS Still Laaunching This Year, Don't Worry

Labels: ,

It's been a couple of months since we've heard anything about Google's Chrome OS officially. Thankfully, Eric Schmidt was here to save the day since he has just mentioned that their OS is still on schedule and it's going to launch this year. The sad part is that he still hasn't narrowed the date down so it's still anytime this year.
