Asus Eee PC T101MT Gets Official With Resistive Multitouch Swiveling Display

Labels: , , , , , , ,

We've heard a bunch about this netbook tablet already but Asus has made it all official for us. Unfortunately it's not going to be rocking a capacitive multitouch display, since it's resistive multitouch but whatever. We already know the rest of the specs sheet so that's an Intel Atom 1.66GHz N450 CPU, a 10.1-inch swiveling display, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, a 160GB / 320GB HDD, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR / WiFi b/g/n support, an integrated 0.3MP webcam, a 6.5-hour battery life, three USB 2.0 ports, an SD / SDHC / SDXC card reader, 500GB of online storage, and Windows 7. As usual, the price and release date hasn't been mentioned.

Samsung i8520 Beam (Halo) Android 2.1 "Superphone" Packs 3.7-Inch Super AMOLED, 8MP Camera and a Built-In Projector

Labels: , , , , , ,

It looks like Samsung is about to make another handset official and this one's the i8520 "Halo" Android phone that should be making its debut (officially) tomorrow. It's a phone with a built-in pico projector and a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED WVGA touchscreen display. Why couldn't they put this display on their Wave handset is what I'm wondering. Other specs are still quite amazing making this a true "superphone" if you want to. Expect an 8MP AF camera on-board with 720p video recording capbilities, quad-band GSM/EDGE / tri-band UMTS 900 / 1900 / 2100 connectivity, DivX / XviD video playback, 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, WiFi / DLNA support, Bluetooth 2.1, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Android 2.1. This handset will be launched in Europe and Asia in Q3 of this year with a US launch later on (hopefully later in Q3).

The bad part about the built-in projector is that it makes the phone a fat 14.9mm thick. It looks like it'll also be rocking the new TouchWiz 3.0 UI - over top of Android 2.1. Expect Samsung to make it 100% official tomorrow.

Update: It looks like this handset will actually be called the Samsung Beam.

I just talked about Sony Ericsson mentioning the XPERIA X10 MiniMini Pro and it looks like Akihabara News has just got their hands-on with the device. They've mentioned that the QWERTY keyboard is "fully capable" although it does seem a bit small. The spec sheet includes a Qualcomm MSM7227 600MHz CPU, a 2.5-inch QVGA touchscreen display, a microSD card (2GB card inside), a 5MP AF camera, 3G / Bluetooth / WiFi support, GPS support, and Android 1.6 with SE's own custom UI. Sony Ericsson Announces the Vivaz Pro, X10 Mini, and the X10 Mini Pro

Labels: , , , , , , ,

It looks liek Sony Ericsson has made a couple of new handsets official at their press conference this afternoon. The first one they announced was the Sony Ericsson Vivaz and the XPERIA X10 which we already knew were on the way in the first half of this year. They've also gone on to make the Sony Ericsson "Kanna" official as the Vivaz Pro! They didn't talk about it much at all so we'll have to wait for the full spec sheet later. I'm hoping it mirrors the specs of the Vivaz, except this one has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

They weren't done there. Right after the Vivaz Pro was announced, they announced the XPERIA X10 Mini aka Robyn. This handset will be available in a couple of different colours (five, see below). This handset will be running Android and will be packed with Timescape and Mediascape. In case that wasn't enough for you they've also announced the X10 Mini Pro, so that's the XPERIA X10 shrunken down and including a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Awesome stuff. All of these handsets will be available in Q2 of this year.

Samsung (S8500) Wave Now Official; First Bada Handset, Rocking AMOLED, Bluetooth 3.0, and Snapdragon

Labels: , , , , ,

Here's a great start for Samsung's Bada mobile OS. They've just announced the Samsung Wave which is the S8500. This handset will be their first handset running their Bada OS and it's got some juicy features. Juicy-ness includes a 3.3-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display with a 480 x 800 resolution, Bluetooth 3.0 support, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, a 5MP AF camera that will record 720p video, aGPS / WiFi n support, 2GB / 8GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, virtual 5.1 surround sound, and support for DivX / XviD videos.

Sadly, there's no multitouch on-board and I'm pretty sure that Bada does not have multitasking capabilities. This handset will be launching this April, but the price hasn't been mentioned yet.

LG's 15-Inch OLED TV Launching In the USA In Mid-2010 For $2,500

Labels: , ,

LG launched this TV in South Korea last year and it looks like they're also planning to launch their 15-inch OLED TV in the USA as well. Americans will be able to pick up this TV for around $2,500 in the middle of this year. If you're willing to spend that much for this small TV then go right ahead.
