Acer Unveils Three Touchscreen Android Devices; 4.8-Inch Smartphone and 7 / 10-Inch Tablets

Acer held an event today and we now know that when they hold an event, that they're not joking around. They unveiled three Android-based devices that are all worth a couple of looks at.

The first device that the company mentioned was what you see above and that's a 4.8-inch smartphone, but I'll call it an MID. About a month ago (in October), this actually leaked out so it should be a bit familiar to you. It sports a 1,024 x 480 resolution, an 8MP AF camera with a flash, a 2MP front-facing camera, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth 3.0 support, an HDMI port, DLNA, HSDPA connectivity, Flash 10.1 support, and likely version 2.2 of the OS. The price is unknown for this smartphone / MID right now but you can expect it to ship in April 2011 if everything goes as planned.

The next two devices in the pipe from Acer are 7 and 10-inch Android tablets. Both of them are expected to ship in April 2011 (so we'll likely see them again at CES 2011) but the prices are also unknown. The smaller tablet is 7-inches, like I said, and it sports a 1,280 x 800 resolution, a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm CPU, Flash 10.1 support, and Android 2.2. The larger tablet measures 10.1-inches (and is pictured above), has the same resolution (and multitouch of course), a dual-core 1GHz CPU, a 5MP rear-facing camera, an HD front-facing camera, and will ship with Froyo as well. Both of them are also unnamed right now but that's really not important. This was also in the October leak.
