Motorola Announces the Rugged Defy Android Handset, Hitting the Market In Q4

Labels: , , , ,

Motorola has announced another one of their upcoming Android handsets, the Motorola Defy. This smartphone sports a 3.7-inch Gorilla Glass touchscreen display (480 x 854 resolution), a TI OMAP 3610 800MHz CPU, a 3.5mm headphone jack, aGPS / WiFi b/g/n support, Stereo Bluetooth, a 5MP AF camera with an LED flash, 512MB of RAM, 2GB of ROM, a microSD card slot, a 1,540 mAh battery, HSDPA (900/2100 MHz) / GSM/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) connectivity, and Android 2.1 with the company's own Blur skin. This smartphone is one of the first rugged Android handsets to be announced and it's dirt, dust, scratch, and a bit water resistant as well. You'll be able to use this one at a beach, but don't go swimming with it. This is going to be hitting Europe in Q4 of this year (where that OS will be outdated, if it isn't already).
