Slate 500 Tablet Hits Some HP Websites, Hitting Enterprise This Fall

Labels: , , , ,

HP may be focusing on some PalmPad WebOS-based tablet right now, but that doesn't mean that the Windows 7-based Slate tablet won't hit the market. Someone has just spotted the HP Slate 500 tablet running Windows 7 on some HP websites. The Slate 500 is said to feature an 8.9-inch display, an Intel (likely Atom) 1.6GHz CPU, two cameras (a webcam and a camera on the back), and Windows 7 Home Premium. Apparently, the tablet will support pen input, but we don't know what kind of input it will be.

Update: According to Engadget, HP has confirmed that they're still working on the Windows 7 based HP Slate. They're evaluating it right now, so maybe we'll see it hit the market in a few months.

Update: Well, so much for that confirmation. Engadget's latest post states that the Slate won't be hitting the market. Instead, it'll be available for enterprise-only (not consumers) this Fall. Oh well.
