MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac Pro Prices Possibly Leak Out

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Could Apple be planning to increase their MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac Pro entry-level prices whenever they decide to refresh them? If these ads are to be believed then yes - at least in Australia. Apparently, the new prices will start at A$1,899, A$2,399, and A$4,499 for the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac Pro, respectively. In case you didn't know, that's a A$300 increase on the MacBook Pro and A$400 increase on the MacBook Air. Of course, these notebooks are expected to have Core i5 / i7 CPU options, but it's still quite a bit extra. The Mac Pro will likely have the Core i7-980X CPU so it's no surprise that the cost is so high. Who knows if the base models for each of these products will increase when it hits North America.

The real question is, when will Apple finally refresh this line-up because a lot of people are waiting.

Update: It looks like these might not actually be the base model prices that we're looking at. These could be the higher-end models. There's something up with the Australian Apple website and the New Zealand Apple website and it's showing the "Starting at.." prices to be the highest-end models. Maybe the price of the entry-level MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and the Mac Pro will be the same.
