Asus Unveil 17.3-Inch G73 Gaming Laptop With Core i7; U53 Bamboo Notebook Reveals Itself

Labels: , ,

It's definitely a bit farfetched from the concept (above on the left), but the G73 (above on the right) has found its way to CES - not as thin as it was supposed to be. The Asus G73hj has just been spotted at CES with: a 17.3-inch display with a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, an Intel Core i7-720QM CPU, up to a 1TB HDD, ATI Radeon HD 5870 graphics, an 8-channel HD audio system, and DirectX 11 compatibility. Take a breather. Alright, it also comes with a Blu-ray / DVD drive, an 8-cell battery, a 2MP webcam, WiFi b/g / Bluetooth 2.1 support, gigabit Ethernet, an 8-in-1 card reader, and Windows 7 Home Premium.

This is looking like it's the gaming laptop to beat right now and it's a part of Asus' Republic of Gamers notebook line-up. The price and release details haven't been mentioned, but we should see a hands-on from someone soon.

Although we don't have much details about this notebook from Asus we do know that it's got some bamboo on it. We don't know if they plan on mass producing this notebook (the U53) , but the last one costed around $2,000. We'll hopefully know the specs with the price and release details at a future date.
