The HTC Espresso is supposedly the successor to the HTC Hero, as you can see in the Espresso screenshots from the leaked portfolio. Below there are more pictures of the Espresso's Sense UI. This is expected to launch in the first half of 2010.

The rest of the world will get their chance to get this netbook on January 7th. This news shouldn't be that surprising if you refer back to late November when we saw the FCC filing for it. If you wait you should notice a slight performance boost and a longer battery life than the current Atom Z520 CPU. It'll retail at $299 USD.

Intel Officially Announces Pine Trail Atom Line-Up; N450, D410, D510 CPUs

Labels: , , , , , ,

It took them long enough and Intel just couldn't wait until CES 2010. Basically, if you purchased a netbook for your son / your daughter / or (sadly) yourself, it's now obsolete. Intel has just announced their upcoming Atoms that we know all about at this point. Both of these CPUs are 45nm chips that feature the memory controller and the graphics on one chip, which will essentially increase the battery life of your netbook. They've announced the Atom N450 which is intended for netbooks, the single-core D410, and the dual-core D510 both of which are intended for nettops. The Atom N450 (perfomace-wise) isn't a huge step-up over the last-gen Atom N280, but the battery life improved a bit.

Google Nexus One Lacking Multitouch; Possibly Launching On January 5th

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

This is probably the worst news of last week. The beloved HTC / Google Nexus One looks like it's the perfect handset, but it has one major flaw. There is reportedly no multitouch on this damn thing. How can it be an "iPhone killer" without multitouch, it doesn't make sense to me to be honest. Keep in mind that this means there is no multitouch in Google Maps or in the browser, which is just disappointing. Of course, it will be capable of running on T-Mobile USA's 3G network (and WIND Mobile's in Canada), but not AT&T's.

Update: According to Slash Gear, more and more people are starting to find the Google Nexus One in the wild. Fortunately, there is good news here. Slash Gear has heard that the US won't be the only one to get it and the launch date is said to be on- you guessed it - January 5. If you live in Canada, it very well could be headed to WIND Mobile, since they use the same 3G frequencies as T-Mobile USA.

The display itself spans 42-inches, so this is definitely impressive. This is the thinnest LCD TV in the world - by far. Yes, you can count on this making an appearance at CES in a couple of weeks.
